Returning Finecast?

So, I bought a Dwarf warrior with hammer and shield model. The rubber and resin material is interesting, feeling a little elastic and it looks durable, but the edges seem kind of fuzzy or dull. Also there several points of miscasting, the worst being the remains of the rubber cast in the cape.
So, should I bother Ikeda about this and see if I can get a replacement, or should I just stomach it and work around the issues?
What's your opinion?

that's the problem, really. It's not Ikeda's fault. In fact, it has nothing to do with him. The problem is that GW have switched to resin, which is one of the things that everybody has been complaining about. Tales of woe about minis being miscast, broken or warped are all over the net, which leads me to wonder what you expected when you bought finecast.
That said, having mould material in the mini is not a "miscast". It will be for the next schmuck who gets minis made from that mould, but for you all it entails is fishing out the broken bits of mould from the mini with a pointy device like the end of a sharp knife blade or a pin or similar. You should be able to just hook it out.
Treat it as a lesson learned, i reckon. Finecast sucks. Everybody says so, and now you know so.
btw - was it a blister pack or a box? If the latter, then shoganai, but if the former, I'd say you should have (and should, in future) looked inside and checked. From what Ive read elsewhere on the net, it is now common practice to require that staff (in GW stores) open the box, allow you to check every single piece in it, and then sell it to you. That's what folk have to do to ensure a decent box of finecast.

Yeah, of course it isn't Ikeada's fault, but if I want to get it replaced, I think I have to go through him.
I did try those things. I kind of bought (or switched) the model to test the finecast. (Ikeda couldn't order the metal hammerers I wanted, so we were trying to figure out a way so he wouldn't have to return any money to me. I had prepaid.) It was a blister, but you can't examine the model so well through the plastic. (I did look at it before buying it) The fault only appeared after opening the case and turning the model over.
Everyone has been drubbing finecast, but until now, I hadn't seen one up close. Before I had my doubts about the product, now my opinion is decidedly negative.
It really is lame, because the dwarf selection available in plastic is currently just two regiments, neither I need, or a cannon/organ gun, which I also don't need. There are now three "fine"cast items, but I'm fairly sure I'm not going to want them after the poor quality of this item. Everything else is direct order, and I'd prefer to be buying stuff at a local store.

@Job: Don't take it too seriously mate. I think MIJ is just pretending to be a smug, know-it-all
As for your mini, take it back to Ikeda and ask him to replace it. Just because he is a member of this forum and a pretty nice guy doesn't absolve him from his responsibilities as a retailer. Besides, it's not as though he will be out of pocket or anything, after all he isn't the manufacturer/supplier.

Yeah, I decided to reconsider what I typed, but I did look over the model before I bought it. What I missed was on the back.
As I look at the model, the miscast might be workable, as the mold hasn't been removed yet, it isn't certain what it will look like if I pop it out. Of course if I do so, I wonder if I could return it.
I kind of want to test GW's response to their customers. BF was excellent when I complained about a miscast item. They sent me a brand new product within a couple of weeks without so much of a question. It sealed my loyalty to them, particularly as I used the miscast item anyway. I never complained when I received mistakes in other items. I want to see if GW would give me that kind of service.

GW's customer service is one of the better points. They will normally replace stuff no questions asked. Take it to Ikeda san and let him know about it and I'm sure it will be sorted ASAP.
As for removing the rubber mold pieces, they shouldnt have been there in the first place, so GW wont care if you remove them.

@job - fair enough. If you checked over the mini before you bought it then there wasnt much else you couldve done. Them's the breaks, I suppose. Prim is right when he says that GW have been very good about replacing wonky models, and also that it wont affect Ikeda particularly. If you reckon the mini is unfixable, then yeah, you should probably bring it back to him and get it replaced. Good luck

I had a buddy who said he loved ordering from GW because they'd always screw up his order and then give him extra stuff as a way of apologizing when they fixed it.
