and the same pics in a different colour cast. Neither of the light settings is correct, btw - the reality is somewhere in between. Can't be bothered fiddling with the settings at the mo, though. Gomen.





just to make it clear how not-right those pics are, the colours the mini actually has are:

armour plates: charadon granite (a warm dark grey), shaded with orkhide shade (a cold dark green) and black, highlighted with Tallarn flesh (a warm flesh tone.) Are you seeing that in the pics? No, me neither

the gold/brassy bits are a mix of VMA gold and Tin Bitz, highlighted with more gold, shaded with PP coal black (a dark turquoise) and eventually black. Are you seeing that, either? No, didn't think so.

btw - this was a test mini for my deathjack, btw - that's why it's covered in chipped paint effects (to varying degrees of success) - I was trying out new methods of weathering. I have another 2 jacks almost finished that have been similarly abused. Again, some of it worked and some of it...well, not so much

I think;

the chipping is good. Perhaps a little too subtle bug good none the less.

it needs more contrast. Could be the light settings but it does seem too samey.

It certainly looks like a big nasty cryx jack, well done. I would say I am looking forward to seeing it in the flesh, but I never look forward to Cryx.

The chipingg looks good. It is not ove weathered at all. I think that is very good.

The metallics look like metallics

The bace looks great.

There are how ever problems and I only tell you them because you really want to know what I think.(when I post I am looking for approval and a little help that I can understand)

The light green looks really bad if you were looking for a glowing effect it is not lookin the part at all.

There is very little contrast in colours the metalic and the armoured plates look almost the same in places.

I think the chipping looks good. Natural enough that you don't notice it, but it adds to the effect.

The metal shading looks great. Might benefit from more contrast, but I'm not sure.

Verra nice, as usual! It is sort of... gray, but that's the whole Cryx thing.

I just can't stop looking at the lack of sculpting detail on the inside of the claw. Boo, Privateer!

I'm very impressed with the metal effects. I love the weathering and chipping. Great work.

Oh course it is far better than anything i can produce, but if I were to make any comment, I'd say the green doesn't live up to the metal portions. I'm just not quiet convinced, especially in juxtaposition with the great metallics.

Personally, I like the green, it looks exactly how it should. A sickly yellowish green is ideal for Cryx IMHO.

IMHO, I have nothing against the green. I like it the color. I just think MiJ's metallic techniques now out pace the area with his greens. It is a matter, I think, for him to make his Great areas to arrive where he is Awesome.
