Bit of a walk down memory lane for this with such leanings.

I'm not a fan of JBs art, particularly, but I admire the fact that he clearly paints minis in the exact same style he paints pictures. Likewise, altho it looks slapdash at times, it's clearly not - the checks on the ork biker, for example, are ruler straight. One of those times when scrappy is a result of artistic choice, rather than inability to do things neatly.

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

Exactly!

He doesn't paint minis like a dedicated miniature painter. He paints like an artist who is applying the principles he uses for paintings to a 28mm fig.

Might not be everybody's cup if tea but his stuff is unique.

The Brian Ansell gallery has some lovely stuff.

Great stuff Spev. Found those Minotaurs on ebay a while back but I was outbid of course. Nice painting. I love the way people used to make their own banners and always put the obligatory skull or 3 heads on the top.

Check out this old skool blog I found while searching for John Blanche images. Fantastic zombie diorama by the man himself; http://realmofchaos80s.blogspot.jp/2012 ... ndead.html
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

An excellent find! That shall be bookmarked for posterities sake.

I am inspired to scour the net and make a thread devoted to old school images and such.
