Sometimes when browsing the electronic media of the hobby, looking for modelling inspiration, you can find things which literally blow your mind. So I thought I'd make a thread introducing those modellers who take mass produced mini's and re-imagine and re-create them to a level beyond the original concept.

A discovery of recent weeks - Arimata's Guerilla Wood Elves:

Please share similarly inspiring novel creations, to create a thread of "Pure Awesome" 8-)

Most impressive. Interesting concept and very difficult to pull off, but he did it. I wonder how he made all those leaves and moss.

If we're on the subject of awesome Wood Elf creations, I offer this one up:

How I'd love to use that as a piece of gaming scenery.

Gentlemen (I'm assuming) - you have raised the level of awesome in this thread to an even finer, more rarefied and more unadulterated level of pure! 8-)

@ Tenorikuma - love the Rivendell inspired scenery. Share in the want :D

@ Kojibear - Fantastic pieces! The poison ivy type Dryads are epic. Does anyone know if they are based on Juan Diaz daemonettes or Raging Heroes Mantis? The treeman is a real improvement over the original and the converted Wardancer just beautiful!!! The skin tone really brings the model to life... a painting style under-represented with Warhammer elves IMO.

@andy - defo Juan Diaz daemonettes.
Incidentally, the war dancer ain't a war dancer - its the one and only Lelith Hesperax, just with the spiky bits replaced by leafy greenery. It's a nice conversion, but I've always found that particular paint job rather flat around the face. No expression. The original Hesp paint job, otoh, was bang on for "imperious disdain". Kbear had a similarly wizard wheeze regarding Lelith, and has her riding a lion for his woodsies. (I haven't forgotten her! She's next on the painty list! With luck I can maybe start on her this weekend, or maybe next week.)

I know Lelith well as she is part of my supreme Dark Elf forces

I was just remarking that she had been turned into a Wardancer Lord by the looks of things.

The lion version sounds awesome - please add to said gallery when complete :D
