To weather or not to weather

I was just wondering how much, if any, weathering people like on their vehicles, be they historical or Sci-Fi. Leave a comment if you have a moment.
Cheers

Weathering is good! Personally I can't barely be fussed, but every time I see someone talking up how easy to use the Tamiya weathering powders and such are, and see how good they make a tank look (or, heck, look at
anything at all Carl Woodrow paints), I get tempted.

I voted moderate, but it depends on how much time and effort you want to put in. A little weathering makes the model look loads better.

very much depends what you're painting. If it's a standard situation, for use in contemporay/historical wargames, regular military vehicle, I'd say a fair to moderate amount of weathering is effective. Rough n tough, but not completely banged up. If it's post-apoc, (or ork or nurgle), then yeah, weather the crap out of that bad boy. If it's for a more shiny game (eg Infinity) then keep weathering to a minimum.

If you want a tank that has just rolled off the factory floor. No weather.
If you want one that has been in the field. Weather.

You can tailor the weathering to peoples orders.
