Post by me_in_japan » Fri Sep 03, 2010 2:44 pm

Sorry, another boring "help meeeee!" post.

Does anyone know where I can buy Testors Dullcote spray in Japan? I canny find it nowhere :( Even the brush-on stuff would do in a pinch, but id much prefer the spray.

Where did you look? Did you try google? Does it have to be Testors?

Honestly, I have no idea where to buy it, but if I see any I will let you know.

After reading your post I was doing some online searching and I hate to say didn't come up with much.

But I did find an online auction site for Japan (aka Ebay but with a different name) called Sekaimon. As I just found it I can't guarantee how "legit" it is (though its seems okay) but they did have postings for the item. Of course the down side is that it is in auction format.

Looked up the maker too and they have posted on their website a distribution compnay called International Hobbycraft. Seems that the manufacturer isn't licensed to ship items out directly overseas so they provide their products to this place for overseas shipping.

I know it’s a bit harder than trying to just run to the store to get the item, but hopefully this might help.
Another idea is to ask the owner of a hobby shop if they might ship in the item for ya. I remember talking with one shop clerk you suggested it because they didn’t keep the item in stock but only supplied through catalog.

sorry for the late response, chaps. i totally missed these posts for some reason. I usually click "new posts" and then trawl my way through em. these didnt show up, for some reason.

anyway, thanks for the ideas. ive just noticed that FMP has ArmyPainter matt spray, which, while not dullcote, does have a decent reputation. Its 1500 yen a pop, plus shipping, so I'll think about it a bit and see wot my brain sez.

anyway, cheers for the suggestions anyhoo :)
