So, with the new and (hopefully) improved Age of Darkness ruleset coming out very soon, I was wondering if there was any interest in a Painting Escalation League?

The idea is simple, with most people not having a force for the Horus Heresy, we set a target each month (maybe 500 points?) and aim to get that many points of models painted and on the table to play a game with. The next month we build upon that army and play a game, repeating until we finish our force.

Personally I'm going to be working on my Heresy armies for the forseeable future, but I thought something like this may help keep people involved and motivated.

Of course, it doesn't have to be 30K related, if anyone is thinking of starting a new 40K army, or anything really, then that is fine too.

So, what do you think? Anyone interested?

I am roped and lassoed. I guess a good place to start is an HQ and some troops? I don’t have my book yet and I’m wondering if blood angels assault marines are considered troops or not?

I think they are. Assault marines were troops in 1st ed, but my collection of info from the various leaked playtest rules is incomplete and not the final version so...

The new HH set is released this weekend, so lets get this show on the road.
Your mission, (should you choose to accept it), is to paint roughly 500 points of models* for the July gaming day. (Date tbd). Ideally you will need an HQ choice and 2 troops choices as the bare minimum for playing the game, so those are probably good starting points.

*Obviously I'm pushing for 30K, but in the interest of inclusion, 500 points of any game system** is fine.

**Or the equivalent of 25% of a standard army. 500 points of Saga would be about 4000 models.

long time no post. I'd really like to get a move on with my black templars (for 40k sorry!) They did exist after a fashion during the heresy though as the imperial fists first company under Sigismund.

No worries. 40K is fine too.

I'm going to split the difference and paint my heresy models *for* 40k!

I am happily assembling my stuff but unclear on when the priming is going to happen, 梅雨　sucks
