The Battle of Fulford+Tables for other games! - Mar 31st

Post by Primarch » Wed Feb 28, 2018 10:17 pm

At the end of this month (Saturday 31st) the Battle of Fulford event will be held at the NTK Hall in Kanayama (Same place as the NagoyaHammer events, just in the small room). This will be the culmination of months of painting Saxons and Vikings as part of our community project.

In addition, there will be a couple of spare 6'x4' tables available for other games if people want to organise their own games. The only caveat is that if you are one of the Fulford players, you don't go signing up for a different game.

For the Battle of Fulford game, we will be playing on an 8'x6' table using the Hail Caesar rules. There will be a river roughly 1/3 of the way down the table, with the entire Anglo-saxon army on one side and roughly half of the Viking force on the other. The remaining Viking troops will have to enter the table from reserve and double-time it across the board. The Vikings should have a slight numbers advantage in total, but suffer from their forces being split across their starting force and their reserves.
Players will receive victory points for enemy units destroyed and for each of their own units which make it onto the other side of the river.

I will be providing the river itself and a few buildings. If a couple of people could bring along some fences/hedges/trees/hills for dressing the tabletop, that would be great. I can bring along mats to cover the table, but if anyone has 2 matching mats that they could bring along, that would considerably lighten my burden.

I have 1 parking ticket available. First come, first served.

As I said further up, their will be two tables available if people want to use them. You'll have to organise games for yourselves and bring along whatever you need, the same as the regular, monthly games days. Again, first come, first served. I don't mind what you play, whether it's a couple of smaller games or a massive game of 40K. It's up to you. I would strongly recommend organising it beforehand (PMs or Facebook might be a good idea) as it is unlikely there will be people just hanging around to play with and not everyone will read this thread.

I'm not sure how long the Fulford game will take, so please bring along your Saga rules/dice as there may be time for a game or two.

We have the room from 9am to 9pm. And just to make this clear, this is scheduled for a SATURDAY.

The entry fee for all participants is 500 Yen.

That's great, thanks.
I think Job was going to lend us a spare mat just in case.
