here's a crazy thought: Why dont we all just play some games for fun, and like, yknow, enjoy ourselves? None of this  "I. Must. WIN" tourney malarkey.

only people that really care about winning care if they win or lose in a tournament... tournaments ARE FUN GAMES I have never played in one where I did not have FUN...If my opponent is playing to win then it is a challenge. the closer the game the better I teach guys how to play better just so that it is more fun... I am very happy with my tournament play and I am happy to see a very hard core army show up. There is less cheese at tournaments you may not see the three landraider lists because they get crushed.

Yes, tournaments can be fun. And they are an incentive to get things painted up, practice with different lists, and travel to play "higher tension" (Japanese usage) games. If you live in Nagoya, this might be just another day or two of wargaming. But if you are spending 20,000 on a Shinkansen ticket and 10,000 on a hotel room before you even roll a single die...then you kind of hope you`ll be playing against other painted armies, with terrain that doesn`t consist of two empty Coke cans and a dictionary, and with some sort of prize/praise for the day`s champion. After all, I can play pick up games in Hiroshima, Fukuyama, of Okayama anytime..and spend a fraction of what I`ll be shelling out next week. The purpose of a tounament is to elevate everyone`s game and give the players something to look forward to and strive for. I think there is kind of a fear that only douchebags will show up at tourneys, but that isn`t the case. On the other hand, the competitiveness of a tounament can lure many players from far and wide (who are otherwise happy to play games in their own little niches) to a single location to play.

Danguinius is wise as well as tall.

Mind you, he doesn't have to listen to the Madmiral's incoherent ranting as often as we do. :D :D :D

@Prim: Any more details on the day 2 games? Or Have I done a badruck and missed them somewhere?

Day 2 will be a chance to relax after the "high-tension" of day one and also your opportunity to play against people you didnt play on day 1 because they weren't in the same group as you or you just didnt get paired off against.
1500-2000 pts for day two, so bring a couple of lists. IA units etc are welcome under the normal restrictions.

We know you did.
You do remember the "special rule" for the tournament about unpainted models though right? I hope you have at least a little paint on each model.

theyre all airbrushed up the wazoo. got 3 colours on em, all of em. Granted, those colours are black, brown and red all over, but theyre there.

except the incubi. Theyre just black. But then, theyre going to be just black even when theyre finished. does that count?
