That is a shame. I used them ages ago and they shipped to Japan after payment from a UK credit card with no problems whatsoever. Mind you, that was a while back (before Xmas), so it seems like they have changed their policy.

I think Wayland have issues with their inventory system, and that tends to snowball into more problems for them. Job says they didnt have something when it was marked as "in stock" in their store, and when I emailed em yesterday to ask about my order's 10 day long "awaiting stock" status (which on their web site it says can also mean "packing"), they responded by saying it was in a packing queue and was awaiting stock from their supplier. The fact that I also queried the status of everything in my order as being "in stock" at the time of order, as well as at the time of the email, was not addressed.

Honestly, Im not that impressed with wayland. The only time I use them is when they have stuff in stock which Maelstrom dont. Its looking more and more like that advantage is just a fabrication on their part. Cant say Im impressed, tbh.

One question: I was looking around the Maelstrom site and I cannot for love nor money find the mali showgirls box set. Wayland (claim to) have it, but Im leery of ordering from them based on what they say they have in stock. Do Maelstrom not carry some Mali items, do you know?

*edit* right, now I'm pissed. I just got an email from Wayland saying my order has been dispatched. Except, it hasnt, not really. I looked through the details and it says that although most items have been shipped, a warmahorders blister (cephalyx overlords) and a warjack upgrade kit (malice) are out of stock and have been refunded. Note they didnt ask me if I wanted to wait for these things to be in stock. Just cancelled and allegendly refunded money. (Checking the total price for my order, it looks like I have actually been charged for everything though. I must remember to check my wife's credit card bill VERY carefully when it comes through in about 2 months time. bloody Japanese banking system...)

Also worth noting is that both the cephalyx and malice are STILL listed as "in stock" on their online shop.

Epic fail, Wayland. :(

I bought the showgirls box set through Maelstrom so I dont know why it is missing. Maybe its out of stock or something? They have all of the other sets available, it seems strange that they wouldnt have that one listed as well. Could just be a clerical error on their part. Send them an email or something.
#edit# - I just looked through all my previous orders. The Showgirls dont appear on that list. It looks like they have been purged from their system.

Well, I like the Wayland guys. They're prompt and they seem to insist on trying to do right by their customers, but they seem to run things fairly sloppily: items unstocked marked 'stocked', slow shipping processing, periodically possibly letting orders slip in between the cracks, 'clerical errors'. :|
But, Maelstorm's record doesn't seem to be all that more prompt. Ah, oh well.

'The Showgirls' :?: It sounds like you guys are trying to smuggle XXX stuff into the house by imbedding it in your hobby shipments.

@prim - yeah, i was thinking to email them and ask.

@job - yeesh. drag your mind out of the gutter, chiefy

These showgirls.

I do agree that the Wayland guys seem like decent folk. They always respond quickly to any emails, and their tone is always polite and helpful. I just really dont like having the goalposts moved on me. Id far rather shop with Maelstrom (who say "we dont have this now, but will get it for you. It'll take a while.") than Wayland, (who say "we have this," make you wait two weeks, and then when you ask, they say "we dont have this, not really. Here's the rest of the stuff you wanted.")

Accurate inventory is vital for an online shop. Any mistakes just lead straight to dissatisfied customers. Case in point: as soon as I got that email from wayland saying theyd part shipped my order and refunded the rest, I went straight to maesltrom and bought the missing bits from them. Now, maelstrom dont have them in stock either, but at least they say so up front.

me_in_japan wrote:I pre-ordered Black Crusade from Maelstrom - Amazon promise it on the 1st september. When will Maelstrom deliver?
I have pre-ordered EVERY 40k RPG book from Amazon.co.jp so far. EVERY time they have sent me an email on the day of release saying "Sorry, this item is not in stock" and then I have had to wait for a month to receive it. Amazon may say the 1st of September, but really it would be the end of September at the earliest. I have Black Crusade on order with Amazon, so lets see when that arrives.
Amazon now list the release of Black Crusade as the 19th of January next year.
Can Maelstrom beat that?

There are obviously copies available elsewhere in the world, but amazon US, UK and JP dont have it and Maelstrom lists it as being out of stock at the supplier.
As for the pdf copy, I'd much prefer to have the hard copy personally.
