Re: The Movie Thread
Has anybody else seen the semi-kinda-reboot thing of Mortal Kombat? I must confess, I'm bloody impressed.
Apparently, some chap (within the movie industry. An amateur job this certainly aint) decided that MK could be a goer for a TV series or movie. He made a 7 minute pilot/proof of concept, and took it to Warner Bros (I think. Whoever owns the rights to MK. Anyway...) They didnt agree with him, but gave him the go-ahead (and a fair budget, too, from the looks of it) to do a web series. So, he made 9 webisodes, introducing the characters and setting the scene. he put them out on YouTube and they got a very good response. So good, in fact, that Warner (or whoever it is) have decided that actually, yes, a series/movie might be a good idea after all.
Anyway, its a complete re-do of the story, and altho it initially removes all supernatural elements completely, I read that they sneak back in around ep6 (I'm only on ep 2). Each webisode is about 10mins long, but is very, very well produced. Cash was spent here, no doubt about it.
So, here's the linky to the torrent download. Note to those of a legally minded nature: these movies are free to watch on YouTube and always have been. The torrent file just collects them all conveniently in one place and has them all at a nice hi-res to watch on your telly/PC screen.

imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1842127/
Youtube link to the initial short: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9YUeTTaVqo
I must say, I'm quite excited at the prospect of more of this...

Prim! Sort out the forum settings. The font size doesnt go large enough to accomodate Chuck Norris.

Stevie Wonder was the last person to stare Chuck Norris directly in the eyes...

Re: The Movie Thread
Chuck Norris is sooooooooooooooo over-rated, even as an ironic joke. Bruce cleaned the floor with him in G.O.D.
Morituri nolumus mori!
Re: The Movie Thread
Some Norris-isms
Chuck Norris never appeared in Game of Death. It was archive footage from The Way of the Dragon.
Chuck Norris tried to sue Bruce Lee due to being credited in Game of Death. He failed.
Chuck Norris is an old man. (71 years old)
Chuck Norris is a born again Christian.
Chuck Norris is best friends with George Bush Senior.
Chuck Norris backed Sarah Palin.
Most other Chuck Norris facts are a severe case of misplaced fanboyism.
I think I have watched maybe 2 movies that he was in. Neither was very good.

Seriously though, I really do wonder of Norris realises that he is one big joke.

According to his IMDB entry, he has read the lines about him and responded on a few of them.Spevna wrote:Seriously though, I really do wonder of Norris realises that he is one big joke.
A website known as "Chuck Norris Facts" has been created as a parody of his career. Chuck is not offended by the website, in fact, has said he feels honored to have a website named after him and says he laughs when he reads the facts.
Alleged Chuck Norris Fact: "There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live." It's funny. It's cute. But here's what I really think about the theory of evolution: It's not real. It is not the way we got here. In fact, the life you see on this planet is really just a list of creatures God has allowed to live. We are not creations of random chance. We are not accidents. There is a God, a Creator, who made you and me. We were made in His image, which separates us from all other creatures.
Alleged Chuck Norris Fact: "Faster than a speeding bullet ... more powerful than a locomotive ... able to leap tall buildings in a single bound... yes, these are some of Chuck Norris' warm-up exercises." I've got a bulletin for you, folks. I am no superman. I realize that now, but I didn't always. As six-time world karate champion and then a movie star, I put too much trust in who I was, what I could do and what I acquired. I forgot how much I needed others and especially God. Whether we are famous or not, we all need God. We also need other people.
Alleged Chuck Norris Fact: "Chuck Norris' tears can cure cancer. Too bad he never cries. Ever." There was a man whose tears could cure cancer or any other disease, including the real cause of all diseases - sin. His blood did. His name was Jesus, not Chuck Norris. If your soul needs healing, the prescription you need is not Chuck Norris' tears, it's Jesus' blood.
Out of all the Chuck Norris facts, his personal favorite is 'Before the Boogie Man goes to sleep, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.'
