I watched Snow White and the Huntsman last weekend at the cinema. It wasn't bad, but the girl who played Snow White looked like she was stoned for half the film.

Some good SF or Fantasy stuff eh? I have seen a LOT of bad SF and Fantasy movies, good stuff is hard to find.
Willow is a halfway decent fantasy movie, as is Time Bandits. Krull may be worth a watch if you have a couple of hours free. It's a TV series, but The Storyteller is aces, especially if you liked Labyrinth.
SF wise, I enjoyed Ghosts of Mars, but nearly everyone else thought it was garbage. Repo Men with Jude Law was pretty good. I am sure theres more, but nothing springs to mind.

If you don't mind more of the eighties, Legend isn't bad. Tim Curry is in it, and anything with him is worth a try. :) The score by Tangerine Dream is interesting too.

There are also the Conan movies if you haven't seen them.

I liked Time Bandits, and on a similar note, Brazil is a great Science Fiction movie. Be careful not to get the American TV version, which edits in a more "American" ending...

Well, I watched Underworld:Awakening tonight.

Brief no-spoiler review is:

Kate Beckinsdale shoots a lot of werewolves/faceless security grunts whilst clad in a skintight leather thingumejig and a big coat.

that's about it, really. While earlier Underworld movies did at least make some kind of effort at maintaining a plot, this un is just a dumb action flick. It's not a bad dumb action flick, but don't come expecting anything other than shootin' an' kickin' and stabbin'. Oh, and I'd recommend having a beer before/while you watch it. It's that kind of movie.

It put me in mind of the Resi Evil series, which I do actually quite like. Wouldn't exactly recommend them to a non geek friend, though.

So, tomorrow, I reckon I'll either try Ghosts of Mars, or maybe Willow, or just take an evening off movies and do some painting :) (all these plans are dependant on Seanysean being accomodating and sleeping, which is a highly dubious assumption)
