A question about the Spevna Stance

Post by Primarch » Tue Jan 17, 2012 2:32 pm

As some of you may know, (though you may not care), I am in a Spevna Stance over GW's actions last year.

Of course, this means that I wont buy any GW models, but I had a question for you all.

Does a Spevna Stance prevent me from going to Warhammer World in Nottingham when I go there on vacation this March? What do you think?

P.s.
:D :D :D :D :D I'm going on vacation! :D :D :D :D :D

I think that at spevna stance prevents you form taking a GW shaft up the tale pipe. You should be able to enjoy any GW free Beez. :D :D

I'm confused. Didn't you purchase some brand new Necrons?

Anyway, I think Warhammer world can be considered outside of the purview of the GW ban, right? Your ban was on purchasing goods (and more particuarly plastic models), not on enjoying the game, the fluff, player-, community-made expansions and even buying some related goods (paints, event tickets), right?

I think the real question is how are you going to rationalize this with your wife? It took some real sweet talking to my wife to stop at Home Depot (which was right on our route between the Keys and Miami) and purchase two coir mats, only one which went toward the hobby. I never got to a hobby retailer while in Miami that I found only a ten minute drive from where we were staying. How do you manage to get to go to Warhammer World? ! : :?:

Man, life is so unfair!

I ordered the Necrons before I took up the Spevna Stance. It wouldnt have been fair to Ikeda san if I had turned round and told him that I didnt want them.
And I get to go to Warhammer World because I just spent the last month taking care of my wife after she got injured.

Can you get little hats at Warhammer World? Like Skaven-y Mickey Mouse ears? I bet the jet coaster is truly horrific!

I guess I am a pig of a man I just tell my wife I am going to do something and then I do it. Is it that hard I mean dose your wife ask you to go to her friend from jr high school's wedding. Or does she ask before she drop 30,000 on presents for kids you never met. My wife sure doesn't ask me she tells me. So I figure it is quid por quo. Am I just lucky?

Trips for what is basically sightseeing are defo exempt. Just watch yourself in the shop :)

Also, while its obviously decent to let the missus know what you're doing on any given day, you don't have to ask permission, I reckon.
current (2019) hobby interests
eh, y'know. Stuff, and things

Wow. And then Corona happened. Just....crickets, all the way through to 2023...

No worries.
Maelstrom are just down the road from WHW. Its kinda stupid that I can go to the production company's head office and specialist game centre to buy models, or take a taxi for 5 minutes to one of their customers and get stuff at 10% off....

I am also planning to visit Warlord Games if I can, if I buy stuff on the day I pay full price. If I order from Japan I dont have to pay VAT so its actually cheaper.

My head hurts. :D

I have heard great things about MStorm games. I hear it is one of the best places to play any game you want on great terrain.
