If you don't know it, How It's Made is a TV show that explains, well, how things are made. The latest episode (after it finishes with some sort of heavy machinery that I skipped, and lemon tarts) goes into the Perry Brothers' lair, from sculpting to casting to production. Quite interesting, that, esp the bit about how the 3-ups are used.

Somehow I hadn't imagined the process of making injection molds for plastic was so hands-on.
