Best Sci-Fi Movies List

Since the start of the big shutdown I have noticed a plethora of lists telling me what to watch and what the best movies are. I usually like to figure this out for myself (that is half the fun) but I read the lists anyway. This list got my attention as really... inadequate. I am not claiming to be an expert on movies, especially since I moved to Japan as I have missed seeing most of the new movies out, but how is
Gravity the second best SF movie ever?
Other outrages:
Blade Runner #15,
Alien #33,
2001 #38, and
Serenity is only #99.
How is
2001:A Space Odyssey not a top ten in anyone's mind?
It's 'somebody hold my beer' time. Antone with me with me?

Well, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Everyone is also entitled to be wrong.
E.g. The Chris Pine reboot of Star Trek makes the list, but Wrath of Khan doesn't?

E.g. Several superhero movies make the list, but no Chris Nolan Batman movies?
Are these opinions or is this a conspiracy?

"Khaaaaaan!" There fixed it for you.
I certainly don't agree with those picks, but there are a lot of good flicks in there. (Check out #75, Evolution.) And tons and tons of things I've never heard of. " Werckmeister Harmonies " ? Is that one I should know?

Thanks!
When you said Evolution was good, I thought you meant the David Duchovny SF/Comedy, but it would appear that the movie at number 75 is a French SF/Thriller.

The David Duchovny one might rate 1075....but still made me smile a few times if I remember.

Actually this "Evolution" is ...Swedish? Norwegian? Something Scandinavian. It's a slow, subtle, alien and strange ....maybe love story? It's certainly not a thriller. You really need to pay attention to the details and even then you can't be sure if it's taking place on Earth or another world or in the past or future or what exactly is going on. Really beautiful if you are in a contemplative mood.

Oh god....just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, or the arctic, or sit on your sofa. I love me a bad, weird movie, but those may go to far. I mean, you can always just watch an old Godzilla movie or "Plan 9" again.
Here is my weird movie pic. Though it is a good, weird movie. "Diamantino" .Forest Gump meets Moonraker.....maybe....?
