GW Price increase.

Post by Mike the Pike » Sat May 22, 2010 1:17 pm

Is everyone here aware that there will be a small price increase at the start of June? It seems GW prices are inversely related to the value of the pound, or at least from where we sit. :(

However, all is not lost, I received a voucher from Maelstrom games today that I'd thought I'd share with you.

"Hi there,

Another price rise is looming from Games Workshop - on the 31st of May, in fact - and us lot at Maelstrom Games (www.maelstromgames.co.uk) would like to ensure you can grab as much as you can whilst prices go up by giving you a cracking 17.5% off UK RRP voucher on all Games Workshop products this weekend!

YOUR GW PRICE RISE BEATER VOUCHER
----------------------------------------------------------
Your 17.5% off UK RRP discount voucher ends on Monday 24th of May 2010 at midnight (GMT) and it's a great chance to grab yourself those Games Workshop products you really fancy before they go up in price!
It will only work on Games Workshop items - Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Warhammer 40,000, Lord of the Rings and Citadel Hobby - so please don't expect it to work on anything else! It will not work on Games Workshop Direct items, either.
Apart from the above, the voucher will work on pre-orders and, crucially, you'll still earn Moneyback - although tiered discounts are disabled when using a voucher of course.

Your voucher code is: GW-BEATER

To use this voucher simply register on the webstore, www.maelstromgames.co.uk (if you haven't already), copy and paste the code into the appropriate field in your basket when you have selected the items you want, press 'REDEEM', and the webstore will do the rest. You are not limited to one purchase and, indeed, we would ask you to recommend us to your friends with this voucher!

Remember though that this voucher is intended for the webstore only - it does not apply to any of our auctions or shop inventory items on eBay.

Happy Ordering!"

Don't worry, it isn't some sort of scam and you won't get in trouble for using it. Stu told me about their last campaign (before Easter) which I used to get a few wee bits and pieces. And as it says in the mail itself they encourage members to spread the love.

Cheers
Mike

It's forcing me to evaluate my army building choices. Too many projects, means lots more money needed so I'm cutting back and going for lists that are easier to build

Wedding, and my paycheck coming to less than go-man en because I took so much time off work to hang out with my parents/friends who'd come over from the UK.
I did have a bit of spare cash, but thats paying for my trip to the Beppu fantasy tournament.

We've all been there Prim. Not to worry mate, that account will fill up again soon. At the end of 2008 I had the grand total of 24,000 yen in my bank account :? You will be back on the old plastic crack with wild abandon soon enough.

Oh, and congrats on the nuptials mate. I hope the big day went smoothly.
