Hello!
Hello!
Greetings everyone!
I'm an American currently living in Nishio-shi and I have been wanting to get into 40k for years. I recently heard there was a gaming scene in Nagoya, so I decided I might as well give it a try.
I see the event calendar and I understand there are monthly events at Joshin and Tsu. I guess Joshin is 浄心 but I read somewhere that it is Joshin Kids Land and near Kamimaezu. Could someone tell me where these places are and if/when it would be okay to drop by?
Thanks!

Re: Hello!
Hi Auxryn and welcome to Nagoya Hammer.
Joshin is indeed in Kamimaezu in Nagoya and is easy to find. There are directions here:
http://www.nagoyahammer.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=12&t=47
We are having a gaming event this Sunday, though there may not be a lot of 40K going on. We held a big 2 day event during Golden Week so everyone is a little tired of 40K this month. Next month there will probably be something happening though. By all means feel free to drop by this weekend though and everyone will be happy to take the time to say hi. We can also point out where to buy models from and where to pick up hobby stuff like paint and brushes etc.
Likewise, feel free to jump into any of the forum discussions. Nearly everyone knows everyone else, so if it looks like we're having a go at each other, it's all in good fun (usually).
Looking forward to meeting you at Joshin sometime.
Primarch (though most folks call me Prim for short).

Re: Hello!
Hi there Auxryn,
Welcome to our wee forum. Feel free to look around and jump in on any of the threads that look interesting.
If you are interested in 40K, or any other wargaming system then this is the place to be. Members of our group regularly play, Warhammer 40K, Warhammer Fantasy, Bloodbowl, Flames of War (WW2), Warmachine/Hordes, Black Powder (Napoleonic era), Malifaux and Cutlass to name a few. We have regular meetings in several locations and we often arrange games amongst ourselves when time and space permits.
The closest event (in terms of distance and time) is our regular game day, held at Joshin Kids Land in Kamimaezu, Nagoya. Follow this link for more info...

This months meeting is this coming Sunday (27th May). If you are free come along and take a look around.
Cheers

D'oh! Prim beat me to the punch.

Re: Hello!
Hi there. I'm pretty new to 40k and this group as well. Everyone is friendly and easygoing, and the monthly games day at Joshin is usually a lot of fun.

Re: Hello!
Howdy and welcome to the forum
as folks have already said your best bet is to drop by the Joshin Kids Land game on Sunday and say howdy-do. I won't be there myself, as I live in Tsu and am saving up my gaming credits to go to Ashmie's event here next month (I did the overnight thing at the Naghammer event at the start of the month, so another trip up there this weekend would be pushing my luck with the missus...)
Please feel free to wander the forums and join in with any conversations that take your fancy. At the moment it's all getting a bit twicky with regards to the Madmiral's house-rules for his South American rebel / Soviet proletariat space goblin army. (Yes, you read that right. He's nothing if not creative.) Anyway, if there seems to be some serious disagreement going on, not to worry - we all know each other irl, and get on just fine.
See ya on the forums

Nice to hear from all of you!
I'll stop by Joshin Kids Land this Sunday. Depending on how grocery shopping goes I might be there a little after noon to say hi.

Re: Hello!
Greetings Auxryn,
I almost envy you, you are getting in to 40k for the first time. My advice if you needed any would be get some solid units you can use for a variety of different scenarios. Don't buy everything and anything too highly specialised or rules complex at first that way you can get a good feel for the game. Everyone has space marines but they are pretty good for learning the rules and tailoring to different missions. Tau might be good or Chaos Space Marines. Think about what you want from your army, something that will win, something that will look good on the table, both? I'm sure the experts on here for 40k (not I) can point you in the right direction.
We have a gaming event at Tsu on the 17th so please PM me for more details if you need directions and more info.
Good to hear from you,
Ash.

Re: Hello!
I'm currently looking between Space Marines, Orks, and Eldar. I spent much of this week reading the new Necron codex, but it's more complicated than I would like.
I think Orks are likely to win out fairly soon.
I can receive private messages but I have not yet figured out how to reply to them. Either there is a trick to it, or it isn't enable on my account. Rather embarrassing, really.
