Just gorgeous, those minis. To be honest, I'm a little to old to have played Heroquest, but have been getting a kick out of Warhammer Quest on the ipad, which can't be that disimilar can it? Yes, it isn't quite the same game, and no, it doesn't involve minis but it's highly recommended!

I've heard good things about it. WQ has quite the cult following too.

If I remember correctly it went HQ > AHQ > WQ.

As excited as I am to see the new HQ, I would MUCH rather have a full set of the original.

I'm sure if you check eBay you'll find one from time to time. I believe they go for silly money mind, especially some of the expansion packs.

#edit# Having just looked at eBay that may not actually be the case.

I've been looking for years. HQ itself isn't too bad, but the expansions are mental!

I have PDFs of everything so it wouldnt be a problem to make a set. So many projects and so little time.........

That is a work of art. A labor of love.
I saw Gamezone minis has a 25th anniversary Heroquest game in the works. I guess MBradley let the copyright on the name expire. Could be some cool stuff. Gamezone makes some nice figs.
I never played Heroquest myself. Advanced Heroquest once. I was big into pen and paper rpgs at the time, and enjoyed narrative style play over "hack n' slash" and those sorts of games felt like a step backwards. Now, I hack merrily away with my pretty toys and settle for bourbon generated narrative.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Spevna mate, I have an unpainted set in the attic at home in England. I was actually thinking of selling it sometime in the future so I will keep you in mind when I do. Likewise heroquest was my gateway to the hobby, that and Talisman.
I had hope I would get around to painting Heroquest but it's been too big to bring over on the plane. Right that's enough showing off from me.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

I do get tempted every now and again, but I also like the idea of making my own one. I have been thinking about doing the whole thing in 15mm. I could do HQ plus all the expansions pretty cheaply at that scale. So many things to do first though. Finish my orks, finish my BA Germans, finish my Necromunda gangs, finish my BB dwarves, start my Eldar, start my Space Marines....
