Burly blokes wanted :D

Howdy folks. This is a pretty blatant abuse of the forum, and I have a sneaking suspicion that it will avail me naught, but still, optimism triumphs over realism 99% of the time...(thats the optimist in me speaking :D )

I'm moving house on the 25th of June. I looked into moving company costs and they are absolutely nuts. 69,000yen for 1 van load of stuff 10 minutes up the road. Even more of a ripoff than GW ( :o gasp!)

Being a tad on the skint side at the mo (shikikin, reikin and, dammit all, shaken this month) I've decided to cut costs by renting a van and driving the stuff myself. As I say, its only 10 mins up the road. What I was wondering was:

would anyone be up for helping me carry stuff like fridges/sofas etc from house to van and back again? I'll buy you dinner, and beer too, if you like :D

I'm fully aware that most of you live way too far away to consider this, but if you consider yourself reasonably local, I'd appreciate the help. Obviously, if youre busy/far away/cant be arsed, then I wont take offence. Its a bit of a shot in the dark, tbh, but I figured it cant hurt to ask :D

Well, last time I checked I was a pretty burly bloke.

If you don't mind waiting for me to get off work, you can count me in mate.

Are you a Mormon?

I'll help out if I am free that day, I'm not sure of my schedule yet though.

Badruk is a true Mormon Ork. He helps people out and is strong enough to carry your washing mashing up a flight of stairs by himself gunting and shouting waaagh all the way

Thank you to everybody who has volunteered to help *dave kowtows, and not in a sarcastic way, either*

I'll use real names here, as youre going to be spending your real time in your real lives helping real me carry real stuff.

Mus, Rob, Ash - thank you. Afternoon is ideal, as I am going to be working all morning anyway. I'll know nearer the time roughly when I can pick you up from the station. I appreciate that all of you indubitably have better things to be doing on a saturday afternoon, and particularly appreciate Rob coming all the way from Gifu.

One teensy thing: Im not sure that we need 3 people to come help. I appreciate everyone's kind offers, but I think any more than 2 and someone would just be standing about gaffering, and thats Kaz's job :D Any chance you guys can work out who comes between yourselves? Mus and Rob offered first, but then Rob is very far away, thus increasing his inconveniece.

Doushiyou... :?

I was kinda figuring you for a definite, Mus. :) Thank you. I was just wondering if Rob was sure he wanted to come along - he's very welcome and all, it just seems awfy far to come just to lug some furniture around. If'n he can, then Ash can chill out. If'n he cant, then we could probably use Ash's assistance, altho obviously its very much up to the gentlemen themselves, of course.
