If that's moving up, then I'm moving out.
So as some of you know, another person quit. That makes four to date. Nice little incentive to find a job and get the Hell out of here as others might follow.
Of course, my (pointy haired )boss; rubbing his few brain cells together, came up with the idea of me moving in and taking over the job of the newest quiter. If anyone thinks I'm in the middle of nowhere now, where he wanted to put me would make here look like downtown Gifu (Baddy even agreed with that)! Wouldn't even think of negotiating with me on just keeping me where I'm at. Talk about odd. It hasn't been easy as I will loose a lot of good students and schools. That's a huge sacrifice for someone who depends and values their students so much. But I did get a bit of a reprieve. One of my best students/fan is also moving and where she is in Aichi, I might be able to continue teaching her somehow. I might pull a few other tricks out of my hat too, we shall see.
Either way I do have a job in principle. The information is coming slowly and I'm moving way faster than anyone else. Also my replacement comes the first of March so I have a huge incentive to be out of there before then. My boss tried to pity me into waiting so that he can save some money, but well he took the job, he gets the knocks from square one. I feel sorry for him, and out of pity I will let him see the truth first hand.
With a contract only in principle, I am still doing the job hunting. I have an interview this Friday and another next Friday in Gamagori (got a call from them today with some preliminary questions... interesting that the guy knew Pikey).
So either way, I'll be moving on a Sunday in March. And I am packing a preparing like a mad man. I think I'm at contingency plan X right now. Moving is going to happen as soon as possible and unless something bizzare happens, it'll happen on a Sunday. I think I have a few vehicles lined up. But heavy hands to make the trip in one go would be nice. So if people can chime in on Sundays they could help and if they can bring another vehicle, I would greatly appreciate it. Also I greatly appreciate the monetary loan Prim has given me so that I can move!

OK.............. this went up in a red nuclear cloud something fast.
My boss has gone loopty loo. Information is not coming in until the last second or not even coming in anymore. Communication is breaking down fast. I would call it insanity, but the is not even close to the truth.
My new job contract signing is the 28th. I will be moving Sunday, March 2nd and any and all hands that can chip in are greatly welcome. If you have a moving vehicle, so much the better. I do not know where I will be going yet, that is still in negotiations (most places are above the 10man mark it seems), but I will go somewhere even if it is under a bridge!

Oh and I need a guarantor to do all of this. the school cannot do anything in a hurry and it could be a while if they do I just found out.

for rent?!?!?!?! Where are you moving to, downtown shibuya? My entire 150 sq m house was 9man a month. My 3 DK apartment was 7man. Actually, it may be worth your while to investigate older houses as well as apartments. Theyre surprisingly affordable (I mean, a big house doesnt cost much more than a small apartment.) I daresay location is a factor, too, though.(most places are above the 10man mark it seems)
Anyway, I wish you all the best with the move.

You may want to either chase them up about being a guarantor or find somewhere to stay short term until they can do it. Otherwise, you should probably find some Japanese person to sign the form, I'm not sure most of us qualify to do it.Colonel Voss wrote:Oh and I need a guarantor to do all of this. the school cannot do anything in a hurry and it could be a while if they do I just found out.

First and last month rent, finders fee, key money. The usual start up costs. Most of these places once in, rent is fare enough. But the start up can be a royal pain. It's the guarantor that is the sticky point. I might have a few options depending on what strings I can pull. The only problem with my school is that they have to go through the proper channels to get things done which takes time via traditional Japanese bureaucracy.
As for houses, no more houses! For one person, it is just too much of a burden to carry and I am trying to offload as much stress as possible. Some good news, may actually accidentally have picked up a few students for private classes.

Yeah, moving into a new place is very expensive in Japan. Also finding a guarantor is not easy. Usually it requires a family member with a steady income or a company. You should either do as Prim suggests or think about other options.
Here's a very tiny (typically Japanese) option from Gaijin Pot, but it requires no deposit or guarantor.

I took baddy up on his place. Within walking distance of Nishi-Ogaki station. Primary move day is March 2nd with a second, smaller move day on the 9th due to the machinations of my boss.

Sounds like a good location. Sorry I have work on those days so I can't come up to help you, so best of luck with things.
But it must be nice to be living only one stop from a gaming event, right? You can enjoy joining the 40k event in Ogaki on the 22nd as a bonus!
