Can't get excited about this, despite loving BB to bits. GW will either release a horrifically expensive limited edition boxed game that chops out all the team progression, buying of new members, and (critically) huge variety of teams, or just completely re-write BB from the ground up, in which case it would no longer be BB.

Can anyone actually see them releasing a basically-unchanged version of BB, and supporting it with a full range of teams anf star players? In finecast or metal? Methinks nay...

But imagine plastic sprues with posable team members…

For skaven? Lizardmen? Chaos dwarves? Norse? Amazons? I just don't see them supporting the game properly. BB is great for the fans as it allows you a hugely satisfying game with many fine points to learn, at a very minimal buy-in cost. The rules are solid, and don't need to be updated often, if at all, and once a team is bought you don't need to buy anything else.

For exactly the same reasons, it's a terrible game for GW to produce, in its natural, current form, at least.

Well.... they do still sell all the teams.
And they do have a VERY good set of rules readily available.

So....

Reprint the rules in a nice new book, churn out some nice new plastic figures for 4 teams, shove them in a nice box, whack a huge price tag on it. Mission accomplished. They don't need to do any more to support it as they already have a full range.

Of course, knowing GW, they won't do this because they tend to make some dumb decisions when it comes to selling what folks actually want.

Oh nice! I still haven't learnt the old rules so would be interested in a new set up. Also my team have had just a few tryouts thus far. Probably wont order it as I haven't assembled and played Dreadfleet yet.

I think of it like the spacehulk release - not designed for long term revenue, it'll be a one-off for the fans (and therefore prob horribly expensive -- although i'll probably buy it....)
