There we go. Let's get our terminology straight. I take "proxies" as a stand in for the official model. Perfectly acceptable in by book among friends for a "hey let's see how these play/get a feel for these new rules" sort of game. But more than annoying if it becomes a constant habit. You all remember the kid with a collection of 30 odd Space marines without arms, Fantasy Skaven, gobbos, a Ral Partha adventurer pack and a Rhino and would play them as anything. Every club had one.
