Okay, there were a couple new Tau releases recently. I got the Kauyon book and found the story to be readable but unremarkable, and the rules to be a useful update.
Essentially, the fluff sort of implies that the leader of the Tau, Aun'va, is trying to get Shadowsun killed because she is too popular and thus a political liability. However she survives the book. The Raven Guard chapter master does get killed though, putting Shrike in charge of the Raven Guard in that warzone.
I also got to read the new Mont'ka book. The rules are incredibly thin, essentially an errata page for my previous Farsight Enclaves book.
The story now. That's interesting. Still much the same quality of bolter-porn we got from the previous book, but this time the setting really moves forward.
Farsight comes back to save the Tau empire from a major imperial assault. Aun'va is killed by a Culexus assassin, but the death is concealed for now. The Adeptus Mechanicus somehow torches the interstellar nebulae of the Damocles Gulf, trapping Shadowsun and Farsight together away from the main Tau sept worlds.
So now Aun'va is dead and Farsight and Shadowsun are uneasy allies.

Well, I hope they get together. That way I can field Kroot with Farsight without a guilty conscience!Auxryn wrote:
