The planned WFB division of FW wants a word.Admiral-Badruck wrote:Left field I would say... left universe mark my words Chaos Dwarfs will never come back they have gone the way of the space Dwarfs..

Chaos Dwarves are definately on the back burner but they haven't been squatted yet. They are still mentioned in the fluff and even had new models a few years ago when the Chaos Hell Cannon came out. Unlike the poor squats who were just short IG with bikes, the Chaos Dwarves have a more fleshed out background, style. I think they will get done sometime but a lot of things are ahead of them in the scheme of things.

Oh, that hurts, cuts right to the bone because it is so true. For some reason "Orks in space" works, "Dwarves in space" doesn't. There was nothing thematically you could not do with another army. Yeah, just short guardsmen, whoopee. That and the figs looked like a sack of potatoes with a beard. Not that it means that I don't still love the little beer swilling bad ass bikers. And we'll be back! One converted DeffKotta at a time.........Mike the Pike wrote:Chaos Dwarves are definately on the back burner but they haven't been squatted yet.
As for the mystery box, (back on subject) if FB 8th is coming out, yeah Heroquest would be a good bet. It would make a good introductory version for FB, and it has enough nostalgia factor (like Hulk) to get the old gits to buy one for the memories.
...and now his Head was full of nothing but Inchantments, Quarrels, Battles, Challenges, Wounds, Complaints, Amours, and abundance of Stuff and Impossibilities.....

Re: Games Workshop Mystery Item
The main problem, I think, is that that style is kind of at odds with the current Warhammer aesthetic. Not quite as much as grungy Hell's Angels are at odds with the 40K aesthetic, but I think they'd want to do some serious retooling before re-introducing them.Mike the Pike wrote:Unlike the poor squats who were just short IG with bikes, the Chaos Dwarves have a more fleshed out background, style.

Does GW have the rights to Heroquest? I know that Advanced Heroquest was done by them but Heroquest was a joint project with Milton Bradley. Also the Heroquest rule books are readily available online (legally I think) in a lot of different places. As for the mystery box, (back on subject) if FB 8th is coming out, yeah Heroquest would be a good bet. No, they dont. MB games has the rights. The Advanced Heroquest and Advanced Space Crusade are all GW, but the basic versions of both wont be re-released without MB Games' approval.Spevna wrote:Does GW have the rights to Heroquest? I heard that you cannot copyright game rules. But I guess that's not the problem. I think the space hulk of WFB is mordheim or blood bowl either one would be fine with me.
