The new Blood Angles 'Dex

Themed lists can do well, even if the themed unit isnt particularly great in and of itself. I run a Crimson Fists themed army consisting of Pedro, two 5 man sternguard squads, 25+ scouts and a handful of vehicles. It actually does quite well against most armies, though it suffers against high save units (terminators) and high AV models (Land Raiders) since it only contains a few AP2/1 guns.
I used this army at the WWW and even though I didnt do too badly overall (2 wins and 1 loss), I did score more VP by wiping out units than anyone else.
If you play with an army enough, you can get a good feel for what it can do and what it cant. Against some armies you will just never win, but against others you will beat them to a bloody pulp 9 times out of 10.
Basically, themed armies are cool, but despite what some websites would have you believe winning is NOT a theme.

thematically, try reading Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. It's vampiric (but not very), the main character spends a lot of time denying his bloodthirsty urges, it witters on about arty stuff for paragraph after paragraph, and is also known to be a tad on the homoerotic side.

Just like the blood angels, no?

You should really read it, btw - I read a whole bunch of the series, and they really do match the blood angels very well. Ignore the movie, btw. It was pure twaddle.

I've read it, yes, parallels can be drawn in terms of the arts and prettiness. But thats as far as it goes. I find that alot of people make blood angels out to be emo and quote "whiny". Try reading the blood angels omnibus by James swallow, better yet listen to the audio book "heart of rage" also by James Swallow. Blood angels are tough as nails, like you would expect from any astartes. Very very well written stuff.

The new BA Dex is good but like most balanced games it has its weak points... FNP and furious Charge is a mean combo. So any unit that has it is sure to do well. The strongest unit in the New dex IMHOrkO I the death company dread... they are absolutely awesome... My Death company theme army has one twice as conceded a draw... so far a good record in our local tournament seen.

Its the same model. Its just photographed from a different angle. Its still the same blocky, front heavy piece of plastic that we saw before.

So long as you only deploy your models facing directly across the board at your opponent you'll be A-ok!
