Looking over their rules so far, it looks like they have a lot of fun little tricks, lowering cover saves, better snapshots and other cool things.

GW have well and truly hit the nail on the head with those.

I am very, very tempted to get some of those rangers for an Inquisimunda warband.

Wow, I'm very intrigued, especially to see the vehicles they manufacture. I like the striders.

Digging those walkers. Funky.

I'm just hoping that there are plenty of conversion parts on the sprues. Right now, I'm thinking that GW missed an opportunity with these guys. They are all far to... human. In all the artwork for the AM, you get the feeling that they have left their humanity behind and just added parts, bits and gubbins as they thought they needed them. Don't get me wrong, I like the new minis, but they just look like dudes in fancy armour. Where are the gizmos, gadgets and whajamacallits that an Ad Mech force should have?

I think that there will need to be some fancy conversion work done to these boys once I get my paws on them.

I always pictured that as being the head honchos, rather than the rank and file blokes.

I remember in one of the books that a junior AdMech guy was in awe of just how much one of the old geezers had had replaced, and that he couldn't actual see any flesh on him.

These are pretty nifty I have to say, HG Wellsy, a bit of Victorian Space 1889 to them, which I like. From the little I know though, perhaps they could do with being a bit more icky and dehumanized. They are very nice aren't they! But no, no, I couldn't possibly..

Does it look like the AdMech codex will feature any AM units, or just allow these fellers?

@Spev - For the priesthood, yeah. They add new parts over time. Some of the background for the skitarii is that each is hand made and incorporates whatever upgrades the techpriest can think of, often serving as a testbed for their inventions. So, I'm hoping that there are enough unique parts to make them look less mass-produced and more custom made by someone with no morales or regard for human life. :D

@Lovejoy - If VSF minis are what you are after, this is the closest I've seen GW get to that mark. Though perhaps true VSF minis may be a better choice for that style of game?

I kinda dig em. As folks have said, they could do with a bit more cog and a bit less fleshmeat, but I concur that it's the higher-ups that tend to be coggy. The basic dudes are mostly just humies with fancy guns. The higher up the priesthood you go, the more tech you get. That said, I had kinda pictured skitarii as being more space-marine sized, even termi sized. More like a servitor with big ol' guns/choppers. Less coat and more arcane melding of flesh and metal. Still, yon FW droidy things look pretty cool. On that note, couple these lads with the FW admech stuff and you have the makings of a squee-worthy army of awesome. Big thumbs up from me. Somebody go buy em, now! :D

I like these. More than the various Thallax cohorts from Forge World, although their automata are good. As it happens, I already have the Techpriest minis, as well as the Magos Dominus, Archmagos Draykavac and three Vorax Battle-automata, so a squad or two of these guys will make a nice wee allied contingent.
