Dark Eldar have officially been named as the next army to be released. No pictures as of yet, but expect to see stuff all over the web after the UK Games Day.

So what do people think? Is everyone going to be picking up a new army? How will DE effect the 40k Meta-game?

Getting up early in the morning has its benefits. Sadly getting plenty of sleep isnt one of them. Yawn.

meh, I'm already collecting dark elves, similar enough. I'm sure it'll make the two remaining dark eldar players in the world so happy they waited umpteen years though.

'bout time. I will definitely be getting them at some stage, as natural allies of Slaanesh and natural enemies of my Eldar. I will probably just the get the book at first though. If they put even a modicum of effort into them, the new models should be awesome (and should look great in purple).
The big question is, how long before the Madmiral finds a broken, spam heavy list on the net (you don't think he comes up with these ideas by himself, do you?) and then proceeds to tell us that they were his favourite army all along.

My impression was that he just posts up some requests on DakkaDakka and passes whatever responses he gets off as his own ideas.
Must make DakkaDakka account and feed him bogus ideas.....

ive always felt dark eldar were the army i was born to play. i even looked for em as equivalents of dark elves when i started playing 40k. sadly, back then they were nowt but a twinkle in the games developer's eye, so I settled for reg'lar eldar instead. Now, umpteen years later, here I am with tumpty thousand points of eldar and no desire to start a fourth 40k army at all.
Bollocks
I might pick up a couple of minis purely for painting purposes, or maybe if they can be proxied for something else, or something. Won't start an army, though.

well I well the thing Pike needs to know is that I already have Dark Eldar and instead of buying the newest thing I got this army because I truly like the idea of Pirates and slavers and flying transports ... no one here will believe that I once owned an eldar army and I painted every model in it myself... I traded it for Magic Cards about 15 years ago... I think there are some very cool things about the army and I hope they make it very fun. to play and play against.. right now it really is not much of either.

Hopefully they will be able to visually demonstrate:
We are NOT chaos worshippers
We are not craftworld eldar
We are evil, sadistic, whip wielding slaver sons of Witches.
and we can kick your ass.
start running.
