Aaaaactually...

Those look quite natty. I think that may be the first fantasy release in a few years that made me want to buy them. I mean, I won't, but there's definitely a vague twinge of "ooh!"

The witch elves look a lot like wyches, but that's hardly a surprise, and no bad thing. One could do some nice combos with the two boxes, I suspect. The hydra suffers from BSLM* syndrome, but the other one (deep sea lookin' thing) is rather cool. And medusa is actually properly tempting me for a just-for-painting model. High praise indeed...

There looks to be an easy fix to the Hydra - heads from the Dark Elf Black Dragon kit.

I would only buy it for the Sea Gribbly anyway as I like the old metal version.

As a long time Dark elf enthusiast (as goes the forum name!) I'm really happy to see them realising some of the potential of the waayy back fluff and artwork, such as Khaine masks and Medusae.

I like the new SoS better than the Witches, and I'm looking forward to splicing a lot of these new things with the Dark Eldar range (incidentally I think the statue on the CoB would fit very well into Dark Eldar iconography).

As a long time Dark Elf player I'm over the Moon with this release...

...and it's only halfway through!

Second wave is gonna be Dark Riders, alternative light cavalry "Warlocks", Cold One Chariot (at last!), corsair chariot, more characters...

The more I look at them, the more I foresee many great DElf / DEldar crossovers. Vehicles, even - Vect's pimpmobile springs to mind...

Ps - add a swirly cloak and that Khaine statue is a nice new Avatar right there. Comes with a natty throne/cauldron attachment, and witchy minions, too
