Color Spevna unimpressed. The Wizard carts are pretty wicked though.

yay empire!
the big kits don't really do it for me. The demigryph knights I might get though, and a few single piece fine casts.
imperial griffon looks kind of lame. unfortunate.
@wood elves & bretonnia: my condolences

I too am not a patron to the big mechano kits GW have been producing of late. Nor yet am I at open war with them. (Stroking beard).
We shall at least pur chance upon the new Empire book and devour it with great relish before our halls are in uproar against this new development. The background certainly will be entertainment enough. Mustering the old models to the cause will most likely be our approach.

Sorry - a meh from me. The griffon's neck is too fat - there's no grace to the mini. The weapon carts are ok, but warmahordes did em better. The individual character minis seem ok - ill await better pics before passing judgement on em.

I guess it is like your preference between Schwarzenegger or Robert Patrick as action an action hero/robot.
I am liking the imposing, big chested sculpt for the griffon with the hero. I also like the amount of whimsy they seem to put into the models, but I'm not really jazzed by their individual models.
Also, the fact that GW is rewriting the 4th oldest book in the current collection seems to be a good sign, although certainly the WE and Brentonia are crying out the most for revision. (Still, I keep my fingers crossed for my Dwarves, the 3rd oldest book.)

It is a business after all. They can sell more models with Empire I'd imagine, both due to popularity and model count. We may have to wait a little longer for the less popular and less populated armies.
Yeah, the new empire knights look kind of cool. Everyone gets the monstrous cavalry unit now. But is the simple fact that they want every army to have one, a good enough reason to include it? My imagine of knights are those riding warhorses or at least something equine? Suddenly a new monstrous half horse, half griffon beast has been found? I dunno...undecided on the idea.
Still the army books are coming out quite quickly it seems.

Yes, yes indeed. Looking at the giant griffin reminded The Spevna of a big fat plump Christmas turkey, especially the overly feathered puffy chest.
