New Dwarfs!

For those of a stunty bent. the first wave of new Dwarfs (I thought it was Dwarves). I can only assume the army book will be along presently (next week?)

IMHO They look quite good. Unfortunately, the phrase 'dynamic posing' doesn't really apply to the stunties so they will never rival the Dark Eldar there, but not too shabby.

Sooooo....erm...I'm looking at that one click thingy for the oath breakers and thinking "maybe there are pictures of the other stuff in the bundle if I scroll along"

No. It really is 80 quid for one unit and a hero.

Damn. And I thought 40k was expensive.
No wonder there are rumours of fantasy being mothballed. I can't imagine anybody playing a game where a basic infantry unit costs that much. Slayers are a standard dwarf unit, yeah? They certainly used to be. I could just about swallow it if it was some kind of specially made resin collectors piece, or some über doom machine from FW, but a squad of plastic infantry? Words fail me. At least, polite ones do.

Edit: the slayers are metal. Which is odd. I thought they were getting rid of their metal minis. You'd have thought a plastic slayer sprue would've been a no-brainer.

The dwarf lord is nice. The dragon slayer looks like he drank too much elf wine and isn't happy at the results, looks awful. We'll have to see what else GW puts out before I even think of sinking money into anything.

It's a GW ploy to get rid of the old metal minis before they release the rumored new plastic box of slayers. Bad deal in my book.

Lovely models. Looks like a dwarf blood bowl team to me.

I like the models, but the price is a gouging. I think I won't too much further than buy the book.

How to fill out your units.

('Course, I can see the argument that pretty miniatures are the big draw of GW, so if you're going to use another manufacturer's models you may as well use better rules, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.)

The rule book and Gyrocopter/Bomber are up for pre-order.
Strangely. the GWJ only has the English version of the rulebook. No Japanese version. Usually it's the other way around, although the Eigo versions are generally available instore in Tokyo.

I'm not sure what to think of the Gyrocopter. I'll reserve judgement until I see it in the flesh.

Miyao-san from Ringtail just told me that there won't be a Japanese version of the army book released at all!! What the... How's that going to work, then?

WtF?
Why does GW hate Japan so much? Japanese and Gaijin gamers alike can't ever seem to win, whether it's outrageous prices, export embargoes or now this!
I do realize J. gamers have been self-translating other books/rules and/or battling through with the English versions for ages but did GW really have to do this?
