Very nice!

The only thing I'd be cautious about with a woodland backdrop is the fact that wood elves are basically in camouflage. :) Realism is all well and good, but popping from the background is important in minis photography.

@TOD: That's a good tip to keep in mind, thanks.

Here's a proof-of-concept (with a hastily-chosen photo printed on lousy paper):

Hmmm. Looks pretty funky on the iPhone. I'll see how it looks on the big screen tomorrow. Still, definite proof-of-concept.

Wow, you can really see the love and care in the basing. Great painting, too. :!:

Yay! Mushrooms :D it used to be an unwritten rule that all serious golden daemon entries had to have mushrooms on the base somewhere :p

Very nice painting and basing on those lads. One wee piece of photo advice - try not to have a horizon line between the backdrop and the ground. A simple way to do this is either put the minis on a plinth or otherwise elevate them so that the shot doesn't include the horizon line, or roll the paper so it tucks under the minis. This latter approach won't work with photo backdrops, I suspect, but for plain or abstractly textured ones it should be ok.

Looking Great!!! :D

Yup, time to start chomping on some Orcs and Beastmen, or even a few plump dwarves! The leftovers will be wonderful fertilizer ;)

They do look good. I would suggest killing the undead because they mulch much faster than Orcs.
