O very well, peer pressure wins. :D The first 5-man squad had their black down and done when I posted the pic, so they'll be all ugly, but I'll be a good boy and attack later tac marines with a file.

There's movement all over the place! Game over, man!

The beleaguered remnants of the Scythes of the Emperor chapter find themselves beset on all sides by Tyranid blips as they explore the hive ship.

If only they had a scout squad to make exploration of the hive ship faster!

(Man, now I can't unsee the mould lines either. I promise to be better about 'em in the future.)

I hadn't seen that.

Actually, I've never played Space Crusade. I think when it came out I twigged it as "a board-gamey kiddy game", maybe because of ads like this one:

(Now, of course, I wish I'd picked up a lot more of the GW boxed-set games than I did. Ah, the arrogance of youth.)

I actually have most of the models for Space Crusade (except the Dread) and pdfs of the rules, boards and cards.

I'm beginning to think that, once Battle for Alabaster comes out, organizing a Boarding Action Game Day would be a cool thing. Space Hulk, Space Crusade (both Advanced and Not-Advanced), Blood Angel, Battle for Alabaster... Could be a fun day.

(Er, that's not a passive-aggressive suggestion you should do it, heh. I'd put it together myself.)

I'd be very much in for that. BfA is still in the organising pre-shipping phase (as per the schedule) so I'm not expecting it till late November. Then there's painting... :?

Need to finish up the face and hair, but I got the paint scheme down for my test scout.

Man, I hate doing skin and hair. Also, the machete's a really big surface area to do in plain metallics. Still, turning out all right so far.

Looks good. Sadly the plastic scouts dont have properly molded hair, so you need to use paint to make it appear textured. As for the knife, give it a wash of blue or something down the blade just to break up the metallics a little and you're done. If you can be bothered of course. The model looks great for playing with as is.
