I've been on one of those painting binges. Sometimes I go months without painting anything at all, then decide to fill up the brush-washing cup and put my butt in the painting chair and I'm really productive for a while. Then I buy a new computer game and stop painting again, heh.

(Having promised to finish up those Iron Warriors for Voss by Nagoyahammer is certainly keeping the fire under my rear lit, though, I have to say. :D )

Sweet! :) great bases and minis. It's shaping up to be a great collection.
Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow because all that matters is today.

Do eet! There was talk of organizing a "boarding action game day," after all.

(If you have, and could see yourself parting with, two or three of the plastic hybrids, let me know...)
I'm sure there are a few hybrids in the box. Haven't looked at them in a while, let me see and get back to you...
So many games, so little time....

Hormagaunts!
Image

(Oh, and before I forget, since YellowStreak wanted to know - the glue I use to stick dudes to the bases is Craftics #33. Sticks styrene to acrylic with no fogging.)

Technically, proxies for Grabber-Slashers, but here's what's up with Grabber-Slashers:

-They attack by leaping at their opponent. Check.
-They have armor comparable to Termagants. Check.
-They're pretty scary at hand-to-hand, but not overwhelming - not nearly as good as Genestealers, but a match for Scouts and able to take down Power Armored Marines through sheer number of attacks. Check.
-They move kind of slowly when not jumping, and can't actually attack unless they do jump. I'll buy this, following the same reasoning that has the Assault Marines leave their jump packs at home when assaulting the ship - close quarters aren't generally a great environment for leaping around.

So it's kind of a great fit, to be honest.

Now getting primed: Assault Marines and Genestealers.

Painted & based
6 Termagants
4 Hormagaunts
4 Genestealers
5 Ork Mindslaves
5-man SM Scout Squad
2 5-man SM Tactical Squads

Painting
5-man SM Assault Squad
2 more Genestealers

Assembled
SM Terminator Squad
SM Terminator Captain

In the Mail (c'mon, Ikeda-san...)
3 Tyranid Warriors

Thanks ToD. In that link it says "Not available for international shipment" -- did you order it from those guys or someone else?

I did get it from them, actually - they must have changed their policy.

And I can't find anybody selling it in Japan with a quick google, either, poop. I'd think your best bet would be to ask the folks at Joshin or Volk's, actually. There's probably some Japanese-made competing product that's available in-country, I'd think.

I'm thoroughly impressed by this. Oddly, I'm particularly struck by how effective the clear bases are. AGP has told me many a time how much he loves em, and I'm starting to see why. They work particularly well with the neon boards. I'm considering getting some for BfA...

I've been very pleasantly surprised on that count as well. Ver' snazzy results for essentially zero actual work. I can imagine mounting metal minis would be a whole nother level of PITA in terms of the glue discussion, though - I suppose epoxy would work, but that's never fun to work with.

(Apropros of nothing, whenever you abbreviate his handle as AGP, I always want to say "Alien Gersus Predator." It's probably a personal problem, heh.)
