Looks good, though I usually go for red or green lenses in the eyes and dark red for the wax seal on the leg armour myself to make them stand out from the rest of the figure.
Looks like an easy scheme to work with though and looks good on the tabletop too no doubt.

Cheers Primarch.
Hmm...maybe red or orange lenses would work, I'll have to try that.
Yes, I think the seal should be brighter, too.
Thanks for the tips. Onwards and upwards.
I was considering using army painter colour primer. Anyone had any success with it?

Tom of "Tom's Boring Mordheim Forum" did a desert theme SM army. Maybe some inspiration here.

Actually, this blog is the paint scheme I am using! The differences are that I decided to use gold for my aquila and shoulder trim, and a dark bronze for the weapons.
I think taking Prim's advice I will use a bright orange for the eyes, purity seals and glowy bits such as power swords and plasma weapons?

Noice!
I think the reason Prim recommended red or green for the lenses (rather than orange) is that you generally want them to pop a bit - your yellow, and most likely orange as well, is a bit close to the base tan color of the model itself. Personally I'd choose cool colors (blue or green) for lens / power weapon / what-have-you details, as the base color is pretty warm.
And yeah, a bone-colored primer will save you a lot of grief in the long run.

Generally, I'd agree with contrasty colours for spot colour, but in this case, you're trying to evoke a "desert" feel, and for that it's important to stick within a limited palette. I think the yellow on the eyes looks good, actually, although you could drift into an orangish tone if you wanted to. Overall though, I'd advise keeping everything muted. It's a very nice paint job, and a whole army is gonna look aces.
Re: spray undercoat - well, generally I advise against using spray cans as base coats, but if you really must use em, a bone/tan colour will be a good aid de speed.

Nice looking scheme. I'm with MiJ on the lenses. The shiny yellow look is very fitting for the overall color scheme. After all, your marines are trying to hide in the desert right? And those are the colors you chose and like.
