Ash's armies 2009-2012

Post by ashmie » Tue Mar 13, 2012 6:11 am

Well it's been over two weeks now since I've picked up a paintbrush. The models are all packed away in the top cupboard along with the jazz mags :D The paints, brushes, spray cans and dips are all in the utility cave.
It's been an absolute blast and a busy 5 years or so. Since 2008 when I rediscovered the hobby after a hiatus in England I have painted something almost every week sometimes every day. I thought I'd put some links to my finished armies here as a record. They are not the best of looking armies by a long shot but I'm pleased with them and happy to have enjoyed the time painting them. Hope you enjoy these, you have probably seen most of them before.

I'll add to this thread if ever I'm lucky to find time to paint in the next couple of years.

I do have more pics of these but not sure where.

There are many more models I have painted in the last five years. Many are still in the shed back home. I have Romans, Gauls, 15mm Great Britain, FOW Red Devils, Slaneesh, Dwarves and Empire too. Hopefully I'll get some photos of them on here at some stage. Many of my best models don't appear in my photobucket but I salvaged what I could from there.
Hope you enjoyed these. Paint on folks. :) :ugeek:

Fear ye not! You'll likely be able to pick up a paintbrush a few days after the baby arrives. In fact, since your wife will likely be in hospital for a week, and you'll be at home, painting is one of the more constructive things you can do :) I'm certainly finding there's not much call for me to be doing stuff so far. I give him a bath every day and change his nappy from time to time, but other than that any problems can be solved by either a dummy or a feed, the first of which takes seconds and the latter of which is rather out of my hands. I'd be painting myself if it wasnt for the fact that my painty room is upstairs and Kaz wants the company. In fact, if I can just get in an hour of oil painting time and finish that weathering I can move the whole operation downstairs (oils are a bit stinky for the living room).

Ganbarre! :D

Ps - that's a lovely neck of the woods you come from. Very much the idyllic English countryside.

Me too, my parents moved from the local area sadly but I'm planning to retire to the town I grew up in Devon in the future.

These were the last models I painted in that shed. Before they sold the place I made sure I had a pipe in the garden as a last farewell. Very Bag End like.
