Georgia on my Mind a.k.a. Crimea River
So this is what I have been up to for the last wee while instead of doing all the other projects I should be doing. Apologies to TOD and Kojibear.
I have wanted to do some 'Cold War gone Hot' gaming for ages, so when I saw a thread on the Warlord Forum for Modern-Bolt Action I was intrigued. Having more money than sense I ordered a bunch of stuff for it before I had even got the rules sorted. However rather than invest in yet another 28mm project I went with my preferred 15mm (i.e. 1/100) scale.
The models are from the fantastic AB minis in Australia (Russian Infantry) and the absolutely shite, in terms of service, QRF figures in the UK (Russian Vehicles). I also picked up a plastic 1/100 Zvezda T-72 from downstairs at Joshin as a test piece.
As well as a crap load of Russians, I also ordered a modern American force too. I can hardly wait to get them on the table. Hopefully I'll have them up and running by the end of August.
Who's up for a game?

Although you deserve to be smacked for the thread title, I'd absolutely be up for a game. What's up with the rules? A Bolt Action hack of some sort?
Feel free to call me Dave!

Yeah, I'll give you a game sometime. I was kind of disappointed that you hadn't started a proper Crimea project though.

@TOD: What's wrong with the title the absolute un-PCness or the Puns?
As for rules - watch this space.
@Prim: If you mean that other Crimean campaign, despite the links to Winter clothing and oft quoted poetry, it's not really my cup of tea.

Yeah, that one.Mike the Pike wrote:@Prim: If you mean that other Crimean campaign, despite the links to Winter clothing and oft quoted poetry, it's not really my cup of tea.
It's not really a period of history I've given much thought to myself, but as I was flicking through yhe Black Powder book just this morning, it was the first thing that sprung to mind when I saw your title.

That is so awesome!
I'd be totally up for it. I think it is only a matter of time before BF will make models for it. I'd be up for trying it with BA rules too and getting models in the future.
But you know you could have written a song about the Daiyou, I mean Senkaku Is. too.
