Eldar mid to late 2012. Possibly 1st or 2nd official 6 ed codex
Guardians being redone. Will include new weapons platform and storm guardian bits.
Avatar getting new fine cast version with weapon options (spear/sword) not as big as FW model, but larger than current.
Lots of new mech options. Jump pack/jet options for walkers similar to new FW models, but unclear if this is new model or upgrade to current model. Upgrade packs don't seem likely, and current model is decent, so I have my doubts about this rumor completely.
New tank options...built on wave serpent/falcon chassis still. Hydra like flak turret, Bonuses against flyers and skimmers. Dcannon tank. And some pulse cannon monster tank...scorpion?
New jet bikes and vypers.
New warlock sculpts.
New aspect sculpts, aspects still likely fine cast.
Some sort of shimmershield device. Portable cover save for a unit, but static once deployed...model in design for it. Sounds fishy to me? But the de have the portal...who knows, I say unlikely.
From obvious dept comes the nightwing and some form of bomber. Neither look at all like de ships, or existing FW. Definitely eldar.
Drop pod of some sort that can carry 20 troops, 10 wraith guard, or 1 wraith lord. Deploys as firebase that has higher cover rating for guardians. Sounds like a bastion that drops into play with a weapons platform attached. Not sure I buy into this rumor completely, it seems too complex the way it's been described. And I never saw any evidence of this in design before.
Cheers. Still super long off, though. Have your salt handy.

Re: Craftworld Eldar 2012???
hum tum te tum. New codex would be nice. New minis, well...

Already got plenty. Not that fussed.Guardians being redone. Will include new weapons platform and storm guardian bits.
finecast - not interested, unless its very, very VERY good, which is very unlikely.Avatar getting new fine cast version with weapon options (spear/sword) not as big as FW model, but larger than current.
sounds a bit iffy to me. If it's a nice mini, hohum, maybe.Lots of new mech options. Jump pack/jet options for walkers similar to new FW models, but unclear if this is new model or upgrade to current model. Upgrade packs don't seem likely, and current model is decent, so I have my doubts about this rumor completely.
It's called a Firestorm. Already got one.New tank options...built on wave serpent/falcon chassis still. Hydra like flak turret, Bonuses against flyers and skimmers.
It's called a Warp Hunter. Already got one o them, too (from forge world, at significant expense, I might add. Since FW is still cheaper than GW, it's not so much of a problem, but if I was a UK gamer I'd be a bit peeved if this turns out to be true. They'd better keep it kickass, too.)Dcannon tank.
er...superheavy? Are pulse cannon somewhere between pulse lasers and pulsars? Sounds off, to me.And some pulse cannon monster tank...scorpion?
GOOD! about time, too. Fix the vyper rules, while yer at it, GW.New jet bikes and vypers.
If you like. The old ones were fine, mind you.New warlock sculpts.
Is that really necessary? Wraithguard and phoenix lords are far older sculpts (1996 or so...) while the aspect warriors were mostly redone by Juan Diaz when the last codex came out.New aspect sculpts, aspects still likely fine cast.
OK, if you wantthe nightwing and some form of bomber. Neither look at all like de ships, or existing FW. Definitely eldar.

Sounds well iffy. Just very non-eldar.Drop pod of some sort that can carry 20 troops, 10 wraith guard, or 1 wraith lord. Deploys as firebase that has higher cover rating for guardians. Sounds like a bastion that drops into play with a weapons platform attached.

Re: Craftworld Eldar 2012???
Luckily for the gaming community as a whole, GW doesn't actually care what M_i_J may or may not already have in his collection when releasing a new codex and new minis.
And the person who first posted the rumours on Warseer did say that he thought some of them were unlikely.

Not an actual Citadel Miniatures kit, you don't. Which is, I suspect, the point. By the way, pics? Is yours a scratch build?me_in_Japan wrote:It's called a Firestorm. What's to be miffed about? If you've already got one, it's not like you suddenly can't use it.It's called a Warp Hunter. Alternatively, it won't be. the Warp Hunter is basically a self-propelled gun or tank destroyer. There's probably room for an actual battle tank* version.
*Not that MBTs are the best comparison to Eldar vehicles. The Falcon is a closer comparison to the Valkyrie or modern helicopters than to a Leman Russ.

Re: Craftworld Eldar 2012???
re: firestorm - there's a forge world one. Mine is a kinda kitbash/scratchbuild thingy. I'll post a pic in a wee bit. It's just a turret, btw. As with all eldar tanks, it fits onto a falcon chasse.
If they do make it a general release, then that would actually be good, as at the mo its a dedicated AA gun, and therefore hugely overpointed if the opponent doesnt take any flyers. If it was brought out of apoc and into regular 40k, it could be cool.
All eldar tanks (bar that wee FW buzzy thing. the honeybee, or whatever it's called) are falcon chasse. That means 12\12\10, access to all eldar vehicle upgrades, and a turret. The Falcon itself also has a troop capacity. The Nightspinner used to when it was FW, but then GW brought out the plastic kit and nixed that particular perk. Currently the warp hunter turret is pretty good and has dual modes of fire. That's the kind of thing that GW might take away if they put it on general release. As for being miffed, it doesnt bother me because of the sales embargo, but if I lived in Europe and had just paid a premium price for a resin FW kit then GW bring out the same mini in (cheaper) plastic, I would be miffed.

What's a chasse? Could it be that the great word-smith MIJ just made up a word.
Or did you mean chassis?

Re: Craftworld Eldar 2012???
So there is. I'm clearly having a moment.me_in_japan wrote:re: firestorm - there's a forge world one.
Tank: big armoured vehicle on tracks with a big gun in a turret. A Leman Russ and a Panzer IVnot sure I follow that. sounds a bit mili'try tae me...Alternatively, it won't be. the Warp Hunter is basically a self-propelled gun or tank destroyer. There's probably room for an actual battle tank* version.
*Not that MBTs are the best comparison to Eldar vehicles. The Falcon is a closer comparison to the Valkyrie or modern helicopters than to a Leman Russ.![]()
Tank Destroyer: less-armoured vehicle on tracks, often with a big gun fixed in the hull. A Leman Russ Destroyer and a Jagdpanzer IV, both built on the same hull as the aforementioned tanks.
Assault Gun: Like a Tank Hunter, but for supporting infantry generally, rather than taking on tanks. A Leman Russ Thunderer and a StuG IV.
Self-propelled Gun: An artillery gun which is, well, self-propelled. A Bombard and a Hummel, again based on the tank hulls.
Basically, a tank can dish it out and take it back. A Tank Destroyer and an Assault Gun can dish it out but can't take it, and a self-propelled gun dishes it out from ten miles away behind a hill and certainly can't take it in return.
If you think of the Falcon as a tank, the Warp Hunter is either a Tank Hunter or an Assault Gun (depending on how the gun works). The thing is, thinking of the Falcon as a tank is probably wrong. It's not a hover tank like a Tau Hammerhead. It can fly. A better comparison is probably an Imperial Navy Valkyrie or a Soviet Hind-D helicopter gunship. Which makes the Warp Hunter an odd beast, because I don't think anyone's ever tried to mount an artillery gun into a helicopter.

Serves you right. If you buy something so you can be smug that hardly anyone else has one, hell mend ye.As for being miffed, it doesnt bother me because of the sales embargo, but if I lived in Europe and had just paid a premium price for a resin FW kit then GW bring out the same mini in (cheaper) plastic, I would be miffed.
