I love the old school stuff. I am also happy to say that I have had Necrons for over a year now and I have been enjoying the way they play if there were not Phase out I would still play them as they are..

Yeah, Phase Out is a bit of a pain. It prevents the old "one scoring model left on the objective" trick quite nicely.
I have nothing against the current 'crons (though they do need something more for the assault phase), but here's hoping that any new models they release are more interesting to build than warriors. For those of you who have never seen the warrior sprue, it allows you to build 4 identical models. No variation in poses except for how you tilt the torso, no variation in designs. They are incredibly dull. Why must all Necron warriors be in a semi-squatting pose? Its beyond me.

I am really hoping I can get some cheaper plastic models immortals are number one on the list in the current rules but there are a lot of really cool models in the works.

while this is still a rumor and by no means set in stone yet, what do you think about the necron warrior armour save going from 3+ to 4+ ?

I'm not liking the sound of it very much. Alien metal automaton constructs ought to be 3+ i think. But I guess their toughness 4 can be still give that hardier than normal edge to them.

Now as I type this out, and think about the supposed points decrease to 12 points a warrior, I"m thinking, might be its not so bad. So long as they remain decent toughness.

I don't know what to think of c'tan as elites as yet, would have to see what they can do first i guess. I I think the nightbringer is the coolest thing about necrons so a new plastic sculpt of him with a big scythe. To make him sufficiently bad ass I don't think he should be anything short of an HQ, but thats just me.

I think its nice to have another army that isnt marines. Bear in mind that marines have great armour OVER their tough bodies, whereas Necrons armour IS their body, I dont think it's such a huge difference, especially with WBB.

Currently the Nightbringer is the killiest thing in the game if you let him get in range. Also having literal Gods on the tabletop is the silliest thing in the game. All of the rumours seem to indicate that it wont be the actual C'Tan themselves on the table anymore, but rather a necron channelling a portion of their power. (Similar to the Dawn of War PC games where the Necron Lord can temporarily become the Nightbringer). This would allow for a toned down, elite version.

while the c'tan are cool as f*k, i agree that having actual star-eating, world-killing gods on the tabletop is silly. I did really like the special rule they had about getting stabbed by imperial calidus assassins, though. Nice nod to the fluff there :) (note: callidus assassins have a c'tan phase knife, so named many, many years before c'tan existed. When the c'tan finally appeared in the 'cron dex they had a special rule: if a callidus stabs em with her knife, it is immediately absorbed into the body of the c'tan and the callidus is rendered weaponless. )

I just always wondered if he gets stabbed by Cyphers C'tan phase knife if the same thing should occur? (I think so, its fantastic fluff) You know, if you play an Apocalypse game and you dig up your old Cypher model with his retinue of the Fallen.

Rumours floating round the internet have said that Necrons should be up for pre-order at the end of Oct/start of Nov. Fingers crossed.
As and when images of actual models start appearing, I'll post them in this thread.
