meh, tomb kings in space. Coulda been, shoulda been far more unique. Some bits of them are nice enough and all, the guns are pretty snazzy, but overall, uninspired.And the floaty thing? Why, WHY for the love of god does it have pilots? Theyre robots. Surely the thinky bit could just be put into the vehicle and it could fly itself?

That kind of stood out to me too. Why would they not just be hardwired into stuff?

Because they aren't computers, they are the brain patterns of a long dead race downloaded into specific bodies. Maybe when they were downloading their brains into their new high-tech bodies nobody wanted to become a glorified Sat-nav system?
Now it may be possible to remove their brains from their bodies and plonk them into their vehicles, but that sounds a bit troublesome if you have to do that everytime. Would you want your brain removed and wired up to your car everytime you needed to go to the shops or commit mass genocide on an unsuspecting populace? I didnt think so.

aha, they may not be running MacOS, but they're definitely computers. Assuming they can make more necrons (and they certainly can) then there seems to be no reasonable reason that they cant just take the brain-bit of 'cron warrior and plug it into a vehicle. The more I look, the dafter it seems. I mean, when designing your dakka gunship, who the hell thinks "hmmn. Lets make a nice big dakka gunship then put the most delicate, most important part, without which the whole thing crashes into the ground, RIGHT AT THE FRONT WITH NO ARMOUR!"

stupid, stupid design. If that was Jes Goodwin then he needs a clip round the ear. What happened to the kind of thought that gave us Craftworlds, Aspect Warriors, Avatars, Warlocks, Farseers and the whole Eldar runic alphabet just because Jes wanted a plausible reason for pointy hats on his eldar?
