This pick has been floating round the internets for a while now.

I was hoping for a move to Vallejo-style dropper bottles. :(
Just as long as they don't get rid of Devlan Mud!
Foundation, Base, Layer. So maybe they will be trying to sell a 3 step painting process. "1. Paint it Foundation Macharite Red. 2. Base it Blood Angels Red. 3. Layer on highlights of Whatever it's called Orange."

Only thing for sure is that the pots will be smaller and cost more.

Exactly what I thought. Nothing that Foundry haven't been doing for years.

One mor daft thing about devlinmud is the smell. It is really smelly. As for the end result I like oils much better

I once heard it called liquid skill. This never sat well with me mostly because I figured skill should be honed and earned. It should be noted that I love the other washes and use them quite happily. When I want to dislike something I really do not need a reason. I as Justin knows I have been developing a new found hatred for chaos black. I have vowed never to use it again.

So there are two paint pots that I will never buy again just because I decided I do not like them. Chaos Black and devlinmud mud. May bothe be disscontinued. :geek:

I actually felt dumber after reading this post.

I will take that as a complement.

Really? The only thing about the second comment was that it was self evident.

Anyway, kudos to Badruck for being a good sport. ;)

By the way does anyone need any of the above posted new paints? A new version or red, white or grey?

Or rather, what colors are you actually using from the GW range? Do you select some or paint with only their range?

Personally I paint with a bunch of their colors, but they are specific shades that match their fluff or I really enjoy. My favorites include Scorched Brown, Beastial Brown, Dark Angels Green, Space Wolf Grey, Dwarf Flesh, Snakebite Leather, Blazing Gold, 'whatever' Tin, Boltgun, Devlon Mud, Scab Red and Red Gore. If they don't touch these I'm happy, but in the past they've gotten rid of Burnished Bronze which created issues for my BL color scheme.

Any colors you guys still treasure?

Devlan Mud?
Actually, I have been using Adeptus Battlegrey a LOT recently. I also love Tallarn Flesh, far better to the other skin tones they do IMHO.
As a whole, I like GW's paint range and use that for most things, though I do have a few pots of Vallejo for WW2 stuff where I need certain shades of khaki or green that GW just dont do.

Yeah, I just meant "treasure still" as in with all the GW-hate whether you bore up and painted with some of their colors. Also I think those who begin to lean toward the painting end of the hobby seem to drift towards Vallejo or other paint ranges.

My range is kind of a 50-50 split between GW and Vallejo with a few Tamiya paints.

It is the way GW price their products and deal with their customers that I dislike, not the products themselves. If GW made garbage then nobody would care how much they charged for it. GW paints are great, but in my experience Vallejo have some issues with the pigment separating in the pot. It's not a deal breaker, but it doesn't make me want to use them more than I need to.

True. I think we all fall in with that the policies and attitude of GW stinks while the products are fairly good if not great. Where I disagree with you is that I think their treatment of their customers is cause enough to stop buying GW products. I may not take a radical stance like the Spevna stance, but I am finding it hard to purchase any 40k stop because I'm not hearing any love out of GW while their competitors enthusiastically give away starter sets (Privateer Press) and rulebooks (Battlefront). Do they have to give away anything? No. But, I want to see them address the patrons' complaints more openly for once. :!: I think we deserve to be treated better then nodes of consumption.

As for paints I've experienced the same. Sometimes it really takes a violent shaking to get the pigments to mix in Vallejo paints. Also it sometimes takes some watering down to make it more viscous and other times it seems to be far more viscous out of the bottle then GW paints. GW paints have a nice consistency that seems easy to brush out of the bottle.

On the other hand the bottles they distribute them in are hard to use for mixing. Also because they use an open bottle, often the last of the paint is a thick sludge.
