Some leaks of the new toys coming our way in the new year.
Exocrine

Crone

Harpy

Haruspex

Gribbly bits

Warrior Prime?

Tyrant Guard

New Warriors
Personally I am liking most of what I am seeing, though I am sure the prices will knock some of the sheen off them.

And some prices.
New Releases January 11th
Codex Tyranids: by the Games Workshop Design Studio $49.5 £30
Tyranid Psychic Cards $6 £3.5
Tyranid Harpy/ Hive Crone $80 £48
Tyranid Haruspex/ Exocrine $73 £44
Tyranid Warriors (3 models) $51 £31
Tyranid Hive Guard/ Tyrant Guard (3 models) $70 £42.5
Carnifex Brood (2 models) $90 £55
Tyranid Swarm (95 models) $170 £105
Ouch. The Harpy, Haruspex and Hive Guard are probably going to be rocking the 9000 yen region. Luckily I already have a load of Carnifexes and Warriors.

The nids are starting to look a little too cartoon-bad-guy for my tastes. They don't need the downward sloping brows and maniacal grins - they're supposed to be devoid of feeling. Bugs, y'know? I appreciate there has always been an element of this (eg in stealers) but I prefer the rather more soulless look, for example on the FW malanthrope.

It's hard not to grin when you have no lips.

Downward sloping brow? Check
Maniacal grin? Check
I think a large part of the cartoony look is the paint job. Put a golden daemon winner on the job, make them a bit more icky and gribbly with drool and oozing bits and I'm pretty confident that the models will look aces.
...I'm not a GD winner, so my Nids will look naff. Sorry.

Where's Ripley?
I like the crone, harpy and Haruspex.
but the Exorine, umm... is that some kind of perverse artistic allusion?

The Haruspex looks like a dog that ate a bubblegum.
