Pike and Shotte is on order. I shall have it painted up with two factions, Royalist and Paliamentary for Autumn late winter. Let me know if anyone wants to play the English civil war. I'm thinking Dorset or Devon castle siege. Epic! Thank you Warlord! http://www.warlordgames.com/store/pike- ... talia.html Might use these for the Bogenhafen Empire army as well.

Having skim read the book briefly, it does look like a very colourful period. I'd be tempted to go with either the Scots or Montrose Irish factions myself, but we shall see. Royalists or Parliment would also be cool.
To be honest, I think the starter battalia isn't really enough to play out a siege with, but it's a start. Hopefully next time you can order from Ikeda san as he should be able to get all the P&S stuff in stock pretty soon.

As for me, I would love to play P&S, but I still have my Romans and Celts for Hail Caesar and both Brits and Zulus for the AZW to do before I even consider it. I'd best get cracking really.

There are flags in there to make Royalist and Parliament troops so we should have enough for a small castle skirmish. Front gate storming party or outhouse or something. Don't buy any models.

Way ahead of you on that one. :D
No money and no time make that very easy to do.

Saw Prim's copy of P&S on Sunday and it's a thing of beauty. I will definitely be picking up this book and the minis before the end of the year, now that I know at least 2 other parties are interested. Feel drawn to a Prince Rupert and or Montrose force, but it's all interesting stuff.

I was going to go for a Royalist westcountry faction and buy the Charles 1st model. 5 minutes ago I was a click away from putting a 200 pound order in with Maelstrom. Royalists, Parliament, cavalry, infantry artillery, casualty markers the lot. Then I remembered all the other unpainted models I have and logged out quick sharp. Phew. I'm thinking of canceling my order actually for this starter set and buying it at a later date when FoW and the rest are done. I can't justify this amount of spending to myself, not with a baby. In fact I've just canceled my Alabastar pledge too as I just don't have any space in my cupboard for any more games or boxes. Sorry MIJ,  :)

You should still get the book, if only as an incentive to get the rest of your stuff done so you can then get on with P&S.
Hopefully you will be able to buy everything from Ikeda-san very soon and at a very reasonable price. (I've seen the Warlord Trade Prices and they leave GW in the dirt for reasonablity :D ).

#edit# let's all hold off for the time being and start it at the same time. That way we can all build up to it gradually. :D

Well there is that, or I could send it to my UK address. yahahahahah. Foolproof. Pick it up in August and bring it back for autumn/winter stockpiling.

Excellent! Let me know when you're both taking the plunge, we can get cracking at the same time. Autumn, winter? It might make a nice series of posts as the armies develop, photos, learn the history and make our own historical fluff etc.

Makes me want to watch By The Sword Divided again - An oldie but goldie that's an entertaining romp through the ECW period.
