Infantry Aces

Is anybody interested in this new form of FOW? It is a campaign form game that focuses on infantry companies and their leader. It allows you to build up your force and, with experience, your leaders abilities. You start with a 500 point list and you build up towards 900 points over the campaigns length.

It is a great way to build up your FOW company or start another. FOW of war is game that plays well even at a small level because of the flexibility you have in maneuvering and using your units along with the detail of terrain and its interaction with units.

I wouldnt be against the idea. It looks like a fun simple way to play with my 50th boys without needing to worry about big cats hiding behind every hedge. :D

Well, that wouldn't be fairly representative of the real war, would it? You should be feeling the fear of Tigers everywhere if you really want to feel like an Allied field commander.
Yep, that is another point, little or no armored support in the type of game.

hmmmm.... I don't know if my fallshermjager would fit into 500 points. but it'd be fun to try. still need to get a regular game in first as I want my big guns to see the light of day too.

As a matter of fact, the Fallschirmjager are the highlighted German force of the Cassino book. Its particularly their fame in defending Monte Cassino that should make them very appropriate for this type of FOW. (There is also a FT list out of Hell's Highway that would reduce the cost of the Fallschirmjager if you are interested.)

By the way, I could try again to make it to Seki, now that I know the schedule of that dinky train line to Seki.

Yeah the fallschirmjager really got around. I have the german normady book and reading about them there is pretty amazing. We'll see what they look like when the book comes out. I already know I need to expand my army.

And let me know when you're free and we can plan something out for a return visit to Seki

Yeah. Africa, Italy, the Eastern Front, Normandy and Market Garden; each time the Fallschrimjager were in the thick of it. I think you picked a good force to be able to play all around.

As for my failed April D-Day, lets say it was something like the canceled May D-Day plans. I could make an attempt in June. The 8th would be two days after the anniversary of the famed drop into Normandy. What do you say?

I'll have to see what my schedule is. Usually Wednesdays are booked solid. Thursdays are the best and friday between classes works well enough. And we'll just say your guys got scatter to the winds on their drop and couldn't organize enough for an attack ;)

Well, I have Fridays off too. I work Thursdays, so maybe I could make it up on a Friday. Is there a preferable Friday in June for you?
