Two very different styles of command, you had Patton who took chances and gambled with his forces and Monty who played things safe and only commited troops when he knew he could win. Both styles have their merits and flaws. However, if it was me on the ground there, I know which general I would have preferred to fight for.

Most likely he'd be charging the nest yelling at you to get off your backside and join him.

And that's why I'd pick Monty everytime. No offence to Patton, he was a brilliant (and often lucky) man, but I'd prefer the guy responsible for the lives of thousands of men to be a little less reckless, especially if I was one of those men.

Still, the pair of them pretty much won the war and both had excellent track records so as to which is the best, I guess we'll never know.

*Cough* - Zhukov - *Cough* - Rokossovsky - *Cough*

Patton and Montgomery commanded armies. The above two commanded Fronts.

The Battle of the Bulge
Allied Forces - approx 850,000
German Forces - approx 500,000
Condition of German Forces - Still dangerous but largely spent.

The Battle of Kursk
German Forces - 800,000
Russian Forces - 2,000,000
Condition of German Forces - Still had the strategic initiative, Panzerwaffe, arguably, at their peak.

Well, I had work this morning, but I have got 6 more stands of infantry glued together, and 2 more that I just finished filing down. That just leaves 8 stands of basic infantry and 5 command stands and then I can start on the Heavy MG platoon and the mortar platoon. Sadly I have to go to work again in 45 minutes.

Edit*
Well, I'm off to work again, BUT I finished the regular stands of basic infantry. Just the command squads to go and then on to the HMGs and Mortars.
I have 2 officer models spare. Is that usual?

Well, I got my command stands finished meaning the rifle company is done. I also got my HMG squad done. Just the heavy mortars to go.
