My British, 50th Division was delivered today.
Sweet monkey on a bicycle thats a lot of little toy soldiers. I have no idea which models are supposed to go on which bases. Some kind of instruction manual would have been nice.
Oh well, so far I have got my PIATs, Light Mortars and Snipers done and I have washed my resin tanks in soapy water.
I'm going to take a break from making WW2 models for now and put together some of my Secrets of the Third Reich figures....D'oh

That's what the Black and White Diagrams on the PDF are for.
British rifle squads are made up of 2 teams of 5 figures each. As they are Rifle/MG squads there should be one Bren Gun per squad and an NCO figure. If you have a few Bren gunners left over you can sub them for normal troopers. Just as long as you fire them as a Rifle MG team.
Your platoon command Rifle/MG team will be 3 figures on a small base (One Officer, one Bren Gunner and one whatever).
Your two company command teams are rifle teams and should be one or two officer figures on a small base with one extra to make up the three.
PIAT teams consist of one PIAT operator and one loader on a small base.
A light mortar team consists of a Mortar gunner and loader on a small base.
That should do for a start anyways. Good luck and let me know how you are going.
P.S. Are you basing them first and then painting them or using some sort of assembly line method?

Cheers for the info.
My plan is to stick them all down to bases, then add some sand, rocks etc, then paint them, then add some grass.
I got all my tanks finished, but the rest of the PBI will have to wait till tomorrow as I'm off to work in a bit.

Finished? As in fully painted? Or just prepped and ready to paint?

Still, pretty impressive.
What are you gonna paint them with?
I am currently painting 11 T34s, 4 BA64 armoured cars and 10 stands worth of tank riders.

Ah the blood infantry, queen of the battle and follow me.
Wake up to a mortar attack
Hit the ground, I'm out of the rack
My sergeant rushes me off to chow
But I don't eat it anyhow
Oh hail, Oh hail, Oh infantry
Queen of battle, follow me
Oh, airborne ranger's the life for me
For nothing in this world is free
From a big bird in the sky
All will jump and some will die
Off to battle we will go
To live or die, hell I don't know.

Because during WWII they only really did one drop then fought the ground war like the rest of the bloody infantry. Held up ol' Hitler's attack by their little ol' self till Patton rolled the tanks in while Monty twiddled his thumbs.

Ah, the good old Patton vs Monty debate rears it's ugly head. I am not especially a supporter of either, but why do people think that a General that doesn't heedlessly throw away his troops and exercises even a modicum of caution (i.e. Monty) get such a bad rep in some quarters?
