Magnetizing metal light 'Jacks

Post by Dungeon Lord » Wed Jul 04, 2012 7:19 am

As the topic points at. Has anyone put magnets on metal warjack arms/weapons? I am considering it, but I wonder if they're a bit heavy or maybe not worth doing it cause they just get destroyed quickly anyway. I was only going to do it to show damage inflicted.

Any thoughts?

Not worth it. Light jacks tend to be either OK or dead. Heavies can lose bits and pull through. But even then they tend not to be walking around for long. There's always the stat card to show damage, anyway.

Note that the plastic heavy jacks come with multiple head/arm configs, so are absolutely worth magnetising.

Figured as much. I was only going to magnetize the light jacks for easy storage and for my opponent's benefit so that he/she could see what weapons were damaged at a glance to keep the game moving. Plus, models with arms ripped off look cool 8-)

Already got my heavy magnetized and ready to be painted. It is certainly a breath of fresh air to be putting together and painting different minis.

Ain't it just? I find the warjacks to be pleasingly free of ornate gothic twirly bits, and possessed of nice open areas for practicing blending or freehand on.
