Date: April 14
Points played: 20
Factions played: Mercs - Magnus (Retribution) vs. Skorne (Master Tormentor Morghoul)
Territory fought over: RE6 to CR1
Winning faction: Mercs
Special Comments: This was a bit of a sparing match between two not so experienced players. It ended with Morghul charging Magnus on full focus through a gap he had just created to try and do the dirty work himself. Clearly someone had mentioned to him earlier in the day that if you want something done, you have to do it yourself . Sadly, this didn't have the desired effect. After taking all Morghoul could dish out, Magnus bopped Morghoul on the head with his mechanikal arm, knocking him down and impaled him with his sword Foecleaver. End of story

Factions played: Cryx (Venethrax) vs. Trollblood (Borka Kegslayer)
Territory fought over: KH7 to CR3
Winning faction: Cryx (Venny)
Special Comments: I got one game in last weekend down Saijo against a very skilled and reputable player named K.T. from the Kanto area. It was a tough game and I larned first-hand why K.T. is such a great player . We played the steamroller scenario with three flags on the middle line of the table (and one randomly disappears). Venny was using his Tier 4 list an accompanied by two Seethers, a KRACKEN!!!!!, a Skarlock (of course), a small unit of McThralls, Bloodgorgers an the rightly fearer Gerlak Slaughterborn. Due to various tier bonuses, about half his army had advanced deployment/move nd combined with him going fist allowed him to arrive at the flags faster than I. This was the first sign that things were going to go wrong. He basically parked the Kracken on the middle flag. The Bloodgorgers and Mr. Slaughterborn and one Seether went after the flag on the left. The McThralls and my Burrowers were left in the cold when the flag on the rght evaporated. We basically traded a Seether and a Dir Troll Blitzer. My Mauler beat up the Kracken a bit, but not enough to take it out. He scored a control point (the middle flag). I caught a break when Slaughterborn charged in an only killed one Kriel Warrior (he flubbed the second roll due to the Kriels abnormally high DEF - Iron Flesh!). This allowed my Fell Caller to come in and decapitate the blighted Troll General. Thus, I no longer had to worry about Slaughterborn chaining attacks through my whole squad and the Bloodgorgers lost Overcome and No Sleeping on the Job. The Kriels and Bloodgorgers spent the rest of the game slaughtering each other (with occasional support from the Fell Caller and the remaining Seether).

But the middle of the board quickly got overrun by the Kracken and Venethrax himself, who - I learned - is very mighty versus Hordes. He easily dispatched the Mauler and Rok before getting pinned in with the Kracken against some impassible terrain (a cliff) by my Burrowers. His feat plus dismembering my beasts plus the souls he collected left Venny at 26 ARM!!!!!!!!!!! for the turn. So, even though Borka had a clear shot at him, I didn`t think he could kill Venethrax...so I did the right thing and RAN AWAY! It would take Venny and the Kracken another turn or two to chew through all of those flag-contesting Burrowers. I ran to a position to charge his remaining Seether next turn. It was locked in combat with the last two remaining Kriel Warriors and the last remaining Bloodgorger (and the Fell Caller...who was also about to charge the Seether).

My plan was to combo charge the Seether next turn with a fully loaded Borka ad Fell Caller which would have been enough to destroy it, dominate the flag and pull out a great come-fom-behind victory (2-1) on control points....but dice down was called at that moment by our game clock "manager". So, I lost. I report my losses too. With more time - just the right amount of time - I might have pulled it off. It was a really bad match up (Venny vs. three beasts, Gerlak vs. lots of 1-wound infantry) against a very skilled player and I lost 1-0 on CPs, so I think I have nothing to hang my head about. I learned a lot and I think this will up the level of my game overall.

Factions played: Cygnar (pHaley) vs Legion of Everblight (eVayle)
Territory fought over: EV2 vs EV1
Winning faction: Legion of Cheeserblight
Special comments: I wanted to get some tough games in for practice against hard-as-nails cheesy lists as training for the Hardcore tourney this is summer at Gen Con. I was obliged by a four-heavy warbeast eVayle list using the (only) Hardcore scenario. In summary, I was way out of practice with Cygnar(and especially pHaley) an made about 10-12 costly mistakes. I still had a shot at killing Vayle when half-a-dozen Arcane Tempest Gun Mages with Deadeye walked into the zone and proceded to shoot her. I went with Thunderbolt shots to hopefully knock her down (and allow the remaining shots to hit her automatically). Instead, I couldn`t roll any doubles for critical knockdown...I rolled 3,3,& 1 for push distances and pushed her to safety. PHaley was munched by an Angelius next turn. :x Everblight reclaims some lost territory.

Factions played: Cygnar (pHaley) vs Legion of Everblight (eLilyth)
Territory fought over: TB2 vs RE1
Winning faction: Legion of Evercheese
Special comments: I wanted to get some tough games in for practice against hard-as-nails cheesy lists as training for the Hardcore tourney this is summer at Gen Con. I was obliged by the standard double Ravagore eLilyth list using the (only) Hardcore scenario. In summary, I was still out of practice with Cygnar(and especially pHaley) an made just one costly mistake...but eLilyth is the hardest match up for pHaley since she doesn`t care about Temporal Barrier. I forgot to Arcane Shield on my Stormwall (dumbest mistake ever!) and eLilyth feated on the second turn destroying the Stormwall in one round of shooting. Had I cast Arcane Shield, it could have absorbed another 21 points of damage, and probably would have survived...and continued to screen Haley. Instead, his last Ravagor shot hit her with boosted damage and he rolled really well...vaporizing her. Had she survived, I would have had a good shot at killing Lilyth next turn with half-a-dozen Arcane Tempest Gun Mages with Deadeye. and Lilyth sitting 12 inches away and sitting on one focus. Good practice against a worst-case scenario list. I`m slowly improving....but another loss to Legion.

Factions played: Cygnar (pHaley) vs Retribution of Scyrah (Ossyan) TWICE!
Territory fought over: RE5 vs CY1
Winning faction: Retribution of Scryrah (Ossyan), then Cygnar (pHaley)
Special comments: I wanted to get some tough games in for practice against hard-as-nails cheesy lists as training for the Hardcore tourney this is summer at Gen Con. I was obliged by an intersting Ossyan list with Hypnos, a Banshee, MHSF, some Arcanists, Wyshnayllyr, and a HYPERION!!!! Giant robot throw down as I brought the same pHaley Stormwall list. Really short version: I moved pHaley up a bit too far with no screen and the Hyperion erased her with one shot of it`s P+ 18 cannon. It was over so quickly we immediately set up again and replayed the battle. This time, the Collosals met in the middle of the zone and the Stormwall ended up on th receiving end of a beating, but it wasn`t destroyed. Ossyan moved up a bit to far - possibly as an attempt to dominate the zone if the Stromwall were to be scrapped. Instead, in my turn, Arlan Strageways moved up, repaired the Stromwall`s left arm...the Stormwall inched around the Hyperion`s base until Ossyan was in range and then one-punched him into the ground. Two quick games with completely opposite results. So, basicaly a stalemate with no change in territory.

P.S. Later I played against Gannon, but I don`t report Cygnar-on-Cygnar violence. :D

The end of May brought about the end of this campaign. I hope it made your games a little more interesting and maybe even stoked a bit of enthusiasm in you. I will be updating the last of Danguinius "the conqueror"'s reports this week.

As a side note, I played two games against Cryx players during GW, but I didn't log them here because we hadn't decided where the battles would take place. Which was a good thing for them as they would have been completely wiped out :D

A special thanks to Dan and Gannon for writing up reports!!!

I hope more people will take up the Warmahordes game in the future. Should anyone like a game, please feel free to PM me!

Thanks for organising it DL, the hard work is very much appreciated. Sorry I didn't get the chance to play more. I hope you can do something like this again in the future.

Indeed, thank you very much Dungeon Lord for organizing this. I`ll take what I learned (either as a Cygnar general or as a Trollblood general) to Gen Con and hopefully win a few games there and represent Japan well. For anyone looking for a new challenge in WarmaHordes, I direct you to the thread below about a Fall WarmaHordes Steamroller Tourney in Fukuyama. :D

Altho I didn't take part in this campaign, I was checking this thread throughout the year. Many thanks to DL for organising it, and I hope that WMH continues to be played in the area as much as poss. My cryx and my trolls are up for a game any time (well, any time I'm free, which is not that often).

I'm glad to hear it was fun for everyone. I enjoyed seeing the map progression aspect of it. It was kinda like seeing your favorite sports team mid season. Hoping they can win the next one or hold on a little longer. It was attention grabbing even when I wasn't playing some months.

The Japanese Warmahordes group seems to be revitalizing, I hope to encourage that trend over the next few months.
