Re: COLOSSALS
I started putting together my Mountain King last night. He doesn`t look so hard to paint or put together...but the model has a lot of chains that looks like they may break off if bumped the wrong way. He looks like he`ll fun as hell to play with all of the Trollblood animuses on him (electro-leap, critical fire, or stationary 'freeze")
In other news, my Stormwall was finally taken down in a battle. I decided to be more forward and aggressive with him in a recent battle vs. Cryx. He moved up and "swept" (new power attack) 6 Bane Thralls to death. Then, the remaining 6 plus Asphyxious plus "Gaspy`s" feat (7 weapon master attacks plus about 5 boosted damage attacks at P+S 15 ALL under Parasite [-3 ARM] and Dark Shroud [another -2 ARM]). That noble sacrifice then drew all of the Cryx forces into the center where my army enacted a massive undead slaughter festival. In the next two turns, all 48 points of the Cryx army (We play 42 point lists + Warjack points) fell to Cygnarian guns, lightning, and hammers...leaving only Asphyxious. Then, I lost on Deathclock! I forgot to keep my eye on the real prize! Great game though!
I have no achieved "fully painted" status with my Cygnar (after expanding them slightly) and I`m nearly finished with my last Blood Angels model. Then, I`m going all in with my Trollbloods (which are already about 70% finished). Wish my luck...and we`ll get a true "clash of the titans" when Trollbloods finally meet the Circle Orbouros!

Re: COLOSSALS
The mountain king is the only colossal/big bastard that appeals to me. To be fair though, he appeals quite a lot. If you have an airbrush, this tutorial is a very good guide to painting the lad.

Re: COLOSSALS
Sadly, I don`t have an airbrush, so I`ll be painting him by hand. And due to an agreement with another Cygnar/Trollblood player in the area, my Trollbloods are actually grey (and my Cygnar is blue....the other player has grey Cygnar and blue Trolls).
I must say, the Mountain King is a might fine-looking model. Interestingly, he actually looks like a walking mountain from a few meters away. He`s kind of cute!

Re: COLOSSALS
The Judicator is the best looking Colossal IMO. I'm really curious to see what the Legion's will look like.

Mountain King is assembled and primed...but it`s a bit down the line on my "to paint list". Expect pictures sometime this winter.

Re: COLOSSALS
Heavens! I don't play legion (altho it was a contender when I was considering factions) but that's a lovely lovely model. Migh even consider getting it just for the paintage, depending on cost.

Re: COLOSSALS
I figure, if you like a model just cos it's a nice model, there's no need to start a faction. Want-to-paint is not equal to want-to-collect. There is no shame in buying one or two models from a faction/range just cos they're nice. There shouldn't be any pressure to use em in a game. After all, consider the amount of time spent playing vs painting. If you don't play with em it's still only a minimal loss.

Re: COLOSSALS
Actually Legion and Circle are tied for want to play, want to collect and want to paint. I like them both equally well so I waffle back and forth all the time between the two........
