Question about movement

So, this came up when I played Dave.
In the rule book it says you cant move over anything greater than 1" in height. Is this always the case? In our game there was an elevated piece of terrain, maybe 3" high. M-i-j had some witches on it and he wanted to dive off it and charge me. However, the >1" height rule would seem to prevent this and thats how we worked it. Did we do it right?

For something that's not really climbable, like a wall or a sheer rock face, I'd say this: Going up, it's an Obstruction since it's more than 1" tall - you can't get up on it that way (presumably there's another way up on another part of the terrain?)
For coming down, since it's more than an inch, I'd say that was a Fall and use the Falling rules, for a 2d6 + 10 damage roll since it's 3 inches.
If it's area terrain that looks climbable, though, like a steep hill or something, I don't think it'd be unreasonable to designate the sides of it as rough terrain either, provided you did so before the battle began.
(Sorry I don't have rulebook page numbers, I'm going by the Hordes playtest document, which I'm assuming is unchanged from the WM Mk II final rules in these regards.)

In this case, it was a ledge with nothing underneath it (no walls or anything), so no way to climb it.

yeah, so far as the rules were concerned, our 3" high overpass was unclimbable up or down. WHile I can see this for going up, surely going down wouldnt be a problem? 3" is about 6m, which although its a fairly high height, is hardly worse than being hit by a blood frenzied witch wielding a shuriken whip (which is P+S:8, btw...)
I think the rules need differentiation between jumping down and falling down. Is there any remedy to this that folks know of?

So basically, accept that you cant do it and move on, or introduce house rules. 1 game in and already house rules are a consideration. Great.

I wouldn't go *quite* so far as to call 'em house rules. Just judge that climbable stuff is Rough Terrain and move on. If you really feel like introducing more rules you can make as many fiddly conditional statements about terrain as you like (I happen to think that the rules the dude laid out in the thread ennui linked to are probably not going to be worth the trouble in a game), but you don't really need to. It's kinda like 40K in that regard - it's tough to make terrain rules robust enough to cover every piece of terrain someone might make, so you learn to spend a couple minutes before every battle deciding what's what. This cliff is impassible, this steep hill is rough terrain, et cetera et cetera.
