Looks like PP have decided to produce some rules for BIG games (200 point region), allowing players to use all of their Warmahordes models in big, epic battles. This new game variant is called Unbound.
You can read some of the designers notes on it
here.

Because now you HAVE to buy a 200 point Cryx army? I know I wont be playing that anytime soon, so I cant see many other people locally doing it either. Maybe the Japanese guys who have been playing for a long time, who knows?

its not that I have to buy that many points, and tbh Im pretty confident nobody round here will. I just kinda see it as pandering to market-driven sales, is all. I know they gotta make a profit and all, but still, im disappointed.

PP could adhere to
your vision of what their business should be like, but then they may not be offering the service that other players want. I am sure there are some people out there who actually do want to play BIG games of warmachine in the same way that I like to play BIG games of 40k. Why shouldn't they be able to do so? If you dont pander to market-driven sales you end up with zero growth, no profitability and a game that nobody plays if you operate in a market-driven economy. Offering an optional rule set for those who want it doesn't detract from how others will play the game.

No, it doesnt mean scone and it doesn't mean to complain or whine. Unless you get sand in it.
